Try a German Short Haired Pointer. We rescued one last year. He is, hands down, the most affectionate (and beautiful) dog I have ever owned and the most trouble.

After the $7,000.00 vet bill for eating an oven mitt (he nearly died), I knew we were in for a rough ride.

Part of the problem seems to be that Stem was not being sincere in trying to reason with others. I have on repeated occasions tried to engage Stem in a sincere discussion only to have him revert, after a reasonable post or two, back to his good ole boy misunderstood affectation. Is it a personal attack to question the sincerity of his responses when he clearly wasn't being sincere?

Is quite easy in this forum to state things as above. I don't recall being insincere when you've attempted to engage me. Plus, I don't think Marg has indicated that because I, as well as anyone, can be insincere and someone questions me on it, that means I'm getting dog-piled on. That's a pretty spin to put to this though, I suppose. So much so one might have to question whether your post is rather disengenuous.(-;

'course I don't care. These threads are turning into a dime a dozen and even more reasonable folks like Fence Sitter are starting to participate in them and go after me. Ah whatever.

No offense to stem, but I rarely read his posts. I do catch some of them and based on those that I have read, I see no reason to jump all over him. I don't know why others would, but that's their call I suppose.

Hey no offense at all, but I do appreciate this sentiment. As side note, I too don't read your posts very often at all, but of those I do read I see no reason for posters to pile on you either.

I wish I could remember where I saw this before, but it was a guy who drew cartoons of all the different types of Internet personalities. One was a hydra topped by female heads, another was of some asshole who quotes Latin in order to sound smarter than he really is (sound familiar what's-your-name?), and so on and so forth. It's interesting because no matter the forum you can always see these archetypes assert themselves.

If anyone can link me to what I'm talking about I promise to upvote you on Reddit.
