How is it conflicting to say that God created man in His own image via evolution?
It is conflicting in the sense that most Mormons understand God's image to be essentially a human male capable of flesh and blood acts like sexual intercourse. Hence we are literally God's image, literally God's children. That is irreconcilable with a scientific understanding of evolution.

Again, how so?[/quote]
A God with those qualities must have evolved from the same primate stock that gave rise to us. It is impossible for him to have the same origin as us, and still be called our Creator.
Now at least make an honest effort at communication before you say you don't see any problem or contradiction. I know how you are. Explain back to me what you think I'm saying.

Why not? Why can't God, who created the Universe, guide evolution into creating bodies like His?

If you believe in God and the Restoration, bcspace, you cannot allow for any sort of evolution in the least for the origin of any species and certainly not for man. Read your scriptures!
Moses 1:32-35 32 And by the word of my power, have I created them, which is mine Only Begotten Son, who is full of grace and truth. 33 And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose; and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten. 34 And the first man of all men have I called Adam, which is many. 35 But only an account of this earth, and the inhabitants thereof, give I unto you. For behold, there are many worlds that have passed away by the word of my power. And there are many that now stand, and innumerable are they unto man; but all things are numbered unto me, for they are mine and I know them.
By many Adams he means that he placed AN Adam on every world with inhabitants. EOS

What evolution tells us: Our bodies came to exist via evolution from primate stock. This involved countless contingencies unique to our planet, our contacts with other life on this planet, and this explains why we are what we are. It is so unique that until the modern human body evolved on this earth there was never such a thing.
What Mormonism tells us: God has a body just like us.
Conclusion: God's body evolved from primate stock SIMULTANEOUSLY with us on this planet because that's the only way to get one. Before the modern human body evolved on this earth there was never such a thing.
So which part of the argument do you not understand/accept?

Sorry I can’t listen to the Podcast, but Dan Wotherspoon to be a terrible interviewer, I can’t stand the way he won’t shut up and let guests answer the questions or how he talks over them. That aside, I did read the description, followed some of the links, and read the comments.
Agreed. The constant giggling is really annoying too.

I love that picture. Comic genius and music genius having a summit.
I listened for about a half hour in the garage while working on my latest guitar amp project, and then had to stop to go watch a movie with my wife. I'll finish it up tomorrow. So far I've heard a lot of interesting historical stuff, but nothing yet has really dealt with the problem of existing church doctrine that conflicts with how evolution occurs, eg: death before the Fall. I will return and report tomorrow the rest of the story.
I'm glad I've been able to reconcile it to the satisfaction of most who take the time to understand my hypothesis. And those who aren't are usually left with no adequate argument to cling to. I am looking forward to listening to the podcast, but first, my Sunday duties call and that includes some sleep beforehand.
Your overestimation of your arguments is, as usual, sad but funny. Your viewpoint contradicts both the science and Mormon theology, while advancing neither.
