I'm not saying God has race problems, at all.

So God isn't leading the LDS church?

Oh, you mean this from lesson 31 'Choosing An Eternal Companion'

We recommend that people marry those who are of the same racial background generally, and of somewhat the same economic and social and educational background (some of those are not an absolute necessity, but preferred), and above all, the same religious background, without question” (“Marriage and Divorce,” in 1976 Devotional Speeches of the Year [Provo: Brigham Young University Press, 1977], p. 144).
“We look to not only the spiritual but also the temporal, and we believe that a person who is impoverished temporally cannot blossom spiritually.”

I find the "economic" background one funny. Its like they are saying if you are poor stick with a poor person because it will be hard for you to get along with a rich one.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

That is exactly what they are saying.
I notice they don't recommend marrying someone that you love.

Mormon Marriages seem, to me, based on lust. You have two people who can't have sex, can't masturbate. They're horny as hell, and they're looking for a release. That's why all the three month engagements in Utah. There was a study done, though, that men's judgement is severely impaired when they're horny. Not much of a basis for marriage, is it?

I don't have the talk at hand but I read a GA talk that said something to the effect of stop looking for Mr. Right and accept that any one will do. It sort of makes sense in the grand scheme of things. I would expect that 35,548,698,524,784,152,524,879,000 years into a marriage some of the luster might have worn off.

This article is very well done and I think outlines the problem perfectly.

no on all counts, I'd say.

Who cares America (no, I am not antiAmerican...) and who cares the world?

HERE, we are talking about GOD's only true church.
And about the members.
And about the doctrine. (if there is such thing...)

Hey, they lifted the priesthood ban. Why do you assume that also meant the upper leadership ban?
