I don't think so. He left because it wouldn't have mattered what answer he gave, he'd have been continually sniped at by our resident wolfhounds. It was impossible for him to answer any question here, because in addition to one or two reasonable posters with whom he might have engaged, 25 other posters would be sniping at him about 25 other things... often with no other point than to poke at him.
Own it, people. Instead of engaging him in conversation, many of you chose to use him as the biggest target for your offtopic darts.
He left because an examination of some of his scholarly work showed some extremely embarassing...hmmm...let's call them deficiencies in his ability to provide accuracy and intellectual honesty. It was so embarassing for him he left.
As if no one here ever made a mistake, so they should clearly be the first to cast not just a stone, but a boulder. R-i-i-i-ight.
Good grief.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

My own two cents--and I've said this before--is that he's squandered his professional life. Instead of a bunch of worthwhile books and articles on Middle Eastern subjects, what we're left with is this huge body of Mopologetic works, and it's just hard for me to fathom a bright person pissing his life away in that fashion. What a tragedy. I mean, when you step back: this is just a colossal waste. Yes: he's done some lectures and led some tours, participated on panels and in conferences and what have you. Big whoop. The stuff that really should have mattered is the stuff he passed up in order to do apologetics. (He'll cite his editing work for METI as something important, but it's really pretty small potatoes, all things considered.)
My goodness, this place has gotten the best of so many posters here. Seriously? Scratch is complaining about DCP wasting his life by defending, at least as he perceives it, the Church, but somehow Scratch sees that's a viable reason to go after Peterson for 5 years? Whose been wasting his or her time? Seriously spending time attacking someone because you object to the career path of that someone?
My goodness. You guys...
MDD has its problems as you all are quick to note, but then we have these types of threads that take off on a moments notice.
Love ya tons, Stem
I ain't nuttin'. don't get all worked up on account of me.

if you're willing to admit its just as obsessive for you to go searching out his posts that appear elsewhere? You peterson are two peas in a pod it appears, Buffalo.

When have I ever done that, Stem?

The point is, Buffalo, just because he comments on something said here does not mean what you think it means. Although, it also might mean he did come here and read it without obsessing being involved at all. You don't seem so adamant to label Scratch as the one who obsesses afterall, for some odd reason.

Yes, I'm saying I haven't done that.
I think they're both obsessed with each other, Stem.
