Why hasn't this turned into a DCP thread already?
Oh, I see . . .
Got stem?

I love interesting threads in which that BYU scholar is never mentioned. Thanks for ruining this thread for me. Grrrrrrrrrr.

And the derail continues . . .
(My apologies. I'm just giddy with pre-Thanksgiving mirth.)

I haven't heard much about it lately, but I would be very disappointed if Mormons really did abandon the Cipher Theory.

I got more entertainment from the cipher theory than I had ever anticipated. What a tale to pass down to the kids!

William-boy's pet theory was DOA. I said that from the very beginning. FARMS won't embrace it and neither will the church along with their dead prophets rolling in their graves. And we all know how cowardly the church is when it comes to defending the Book of Abraham! The Mormon prophets are scared little boys when it comes to the Book of Abraham -- too afraid to speak and open their mouths by their pretended Holy Ghost. Their lips are sealed in shame.
Daniel Peterson's lips are sealed too. He best not say anything about the Explanations of Facsimile No. 3. His lips remain sealed on that subject and it's a damn good thing for him they are. The moment he says anything about those Explanations it will be published upon the housetops for all the world to read -- even all the world! Everyone will laugh at Mormon substandard scholarship! The church will be laughed at and their authority and claims to restoration will be further downgraded among their own people.

lol! touché!
I'd like to think I take Will's theory every bit as seriously as he does.
Glad to see you're still lurking, cks. How's life?
Well, not as exciting as yours, I'd wager, but I manage. I mean, Ritner has never referenced me!
(At least not to my knowledge: Like Will, I'm about to publish some groundbreaking work on EAG. Technically, it's going to be a way-indie series of cooking vids posted serially to YouTube, invariably featuring spinach as un ingrédient. Now, in a very technical sense, I don't own a video camera and am what might be described as a 'poor cook.' But I've floated the idea around to some friends and have yet to see a compelling refutation.)
