The turkey has been completely annihilated, the people have gone home, what's left of the pies offer only a mere hint of what they once were, and every fork that I own is neatly resting in the comfortable confines of a GE dishwasher.
Thanksgiving 2011 is over.
Among the long list of things that I am thankful for, please know that the people within the MDB community can be found on this list.
Because of many who have shared their time, beliefs, views, perspectives, experiences, wit, and knowledge with me/us, I have gained an enormous amount of value from my time here. This, above everything, is what I am grateful for.
I have laughed (with and not at) often.
I have been saddened
I have been humbled
I have been impressed
I have thought deeper
I have enjoyed moments to reflect
I have been forced to pause
I have been wrong (and stand corrected)
I have had my scope widened
I have had my vision broadened
In coming to MDB, it was never my intention to change the "beliefs" of others (I am sure I have not) and it comes as no surprise to me that I have not changed my personal "beliefs". This, in my opinion, makes no difference and should not be included on a scale when measuring the weight of the value one person takes away from an entire community of people.
Simply put, I have found that there is indeed great value in engaging many/most of my fellow human beings here at the MDB. For all of you that have been willing to share your journey with me, I thank you.
Please know that I am garteful. :)
Peace,
Ceeboo
