Who here is up for another violin recital?

Post by _Dr. Shades »

Over in the Events and Get-Togethers Forum, I made this announcement. To be sure that you all see it, please pardon me if I copy-and-paste it here.

-----[BEGIN]-----

Dear MormonDiscussions.com family:

Who here among you is anywhere near BYU? The reason I ask is because a girl whom I met on my mission (true, she was only six months old at the time) is putting on another violin recital, similar to what she did last year (Which I announced, and one of our members attended and commented upon, here).

Anyway, she and her family are mentioned several times in my missionary journal, linked below. As I said in that previous thread:

Trust me, calling these folks "salt of the earth" doesn't quite cut it. More like "walk on water." They showed me a great deal of kindness and otherwise went WAY out of their way for me at a time when I couldn't possibly pay them back. So, each member of this family is WELL worth supporting, trust me.

And I've heard Mindy, play, she's VERY good!

If you're on Facebook, the page containing the announcement is at:

http://www.Facebook.com/#!/events/195363510545323/

Otherwise, here are the details:

THE DATE: Saturday, December 3, 2011
THE TIME: 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
THE PLACE: BYU Museum of Art, Auditorium

Here's how she describes the event:

Please come to my violin recital!!

I will be performing works of Bach, Beethoven, and Dvorak

There will be take home refreshments :D yum!!! can't miss that!!

hope to see you there!

If you're in the mood for a violin recital, then I hope you'll attend. If you do, I'd love to meet you; please introduce yourself to me afterward (or beforeward). I'll be the bald guy with a goatee and wearing glasses. Chances are I'll also be wearing a black jacket.

See you there!

-----[END]-----

If I were near the Y I would love to come. Unfortunately, Toronto is a bit too far (;=(

otoh, perhaps it would be worth it just to see the goatee with the glasses.

Srlsy, any chance of a youtube video for the faraway folks to enjoy?

Oops. I'd better rephrase.

I'm sure that'll be up to her and her family. I don't have the equipment for it.
