No, that's the typical profile of an internet ex-mormon.

Chapel ex-mor . . . I mean bar ex-Mormons are guys who care more about milk strippings and misspelled names. ;)

Those are inactive Mormons, not ex-Mormons. :)

If they truly understood the best apologetic arguments, I think it would be on par with what we see today in converts joining or not.

Yes. No true Scottish ex-mormons would leave for anything other than what the internet ex-mormons leave for.

And yet the best apologetic arguments cannot convince many of the active BIC members who want the church to be true. :)

Yeah, but true Scottish active BIC members who understand the best apologetic arguments are convinced by them. :)

Assuming you're Scottish, active, and BIC, which of the best apologetic arguments convinced you to stay Mormon?

9 pages?!

what makes you think that? I know TBMs that flat out refuse to even look at the apologetics. Why is that?

Of all the folks I baptized on my mission, yeah, about half of them would have joined regardless. The half that would have joined consist of a couple of 9-yr olds and a grandmother of the branch pres who didn't speak English. She didn't know who Joseph Smith was when asked by the DL but he felt bad for her because she had forgotten so many other things so he let her through.

Two guys, who both had a job and a GF probably would not have joined had they known about Mr. Smith's shenanigans.

china oil painting 2

In one sense, china oil painting, I owe my life to Zionism. My parents met in a Zionist youth group in New York in 1946. As a boy,B22 LED Bulbs, I naturally absorbed the prevailing view portraying Israel as a lonely outpost of Jewish modernism heroically fighting for its very existence in a sea of irrational Arab hatred. But like most Jewish families,Watercolor oil painting, we also were unabashed liberals who cherished full civil rights for people of all ethnic backgrounds. The inherent contradiction between these two concepts was never apparent in my youth, but over the decades, it became impossible for me to ignore.

Shades - something is going wrong with your board. A server glitch of some kind?

This post has clearly been imported from another board. and I notice that the thread title has changed to 'bubbleburst'.

I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
