Stemelbow throwdown on Mattie
In another thread, Stemelbow and Marg both reacted strongly and with great passion when Darth J said this about Stem's reading abilities:
It may be "obvious" to you that people can still sin and be a prophet, but it is not quite so obvious to the Lord, if the D&C is to be believed----and read for what it says, instead of reading it with deliberate autism.
I'm wondering why neither of you reacted when Mattie said these things about Stem:
When I was in junior high school, there were special ed kids who rode on the same bus with us. There was always a group of stupid, immature boys who loved to gang up and make fun of one particular Down’s syndrome kid.
and
It's obvious that "stemelbow" is just a sockpuppet you people use to make it seem like TBMs are all dim-witted and gullible, etc.
Clearly, Mattie was exploiting those who have Down syndrome or are dim-witted as much* as anything Darth had to say. She was also maligning both Stem and TBMs.
Yet you remain strangely silent. Why so? (Please don't tell me this is a double standard.)
*Personally, I thought her allusions were much more egregious.

If Stem is now saving his tut-tuts for critics, he should probably use them on Mattie. I'm sure she's someone's sock puppet.

I ain't nobody's sock puppet, I'm just dim-witted and gullible.
But happyily TBM too. Then again I"m told here all the time I don't come close to representing the norm of TBMs.
Where's all this Stemeblow talk to be found anyway?

Whatever! What I said was a criticism of the boys ganging up on the Down's syndrome kid. It wasn't mocking Down's syndrome kids at all. I have a niece with Down's syndrome and we all love her dearly. I have also worked with many special education children in my job. You people just love to try to misrepresent things people say and try to twist them into something totally different than what was really said. It happens all the time here.
As for stemelbow, I sincerely apologize to him. I hadn't read anything he had posted here except on that one thread, and I thought he was being really dense and dim-witted in his exchange with DarthJ. I've since taken some time to read other posts he has made, and now I see that his exchange with DarthJ that I had read was not representative of how he really is. So I sincerely apologize. But that doesn't mean that the analogy I made about stupid immature junior high kids ganging up to mock and ridicule people doesn't apply here. It does.

Ah, but the question is: Is Mattie your sock puppet? If you deny it, Stem, then I will believe you.
I guess sock puppets can be fun. It would also be fun if, once outed, the owner of the puppet would admit it. It makes it a game.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

No need to apologize to little old me. I get it. I normally best ol' DJ here all the time(; Which exchange are you thinking of? I'll clear things right up for you, DJ, Morely and anyone else who might be thinking ill of me.

I might try it just for fun, someday. but no...she's not my sock puppet. Maybe one day I'll trick ya.

I never knew what a "sock puppet" was until I was told about this message board. The person who told me about it also explained what a "sock puppet" was and told me that sooner or later I would be accused of being one of them. He was right.

I'll take your word for it. Sorry Mattie, but it does happen quite a bit. From now on I will think of you as your very own, lovely self.

Fair enough. I'm easily tricked :).
