This is deceptive BS. Are you even conscious of your participation in a lie?

Another thing whyme, when are you going to call a seer stone a seer stone and stop "conflating" the words Urim and Thummim with seer stones? The Nephite interpreters were taken back after the evil doers stole the lost 116 pages (D&C 10), so all that were left were seer stones.

Here was my point: it was done in at least a couple of ways. Not just with a head in a hat. Now I think that the head in the hat is very faith promoting. I see no problem with it. But it was not the only way that it was done. And joseph said nothing about it. Also, for the early saints, no one minded the head in the hat. In fact, I think that quite a few must have been impressed.

But since reading from the plates can be interpreted in many ways, I see no lie in the text.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

How would you interpret reading from the plates? Even with the hat trick, the words are coming from the plates and so, Joseph Smith is reading from the plates. Right?

'the words are coming from the plates'? Where do you get that metaphysical cinnamon twist? When he was face down in the crown of his hat, the plates weren't in there. His little magic rock was. What were the plates, but a prop? At best for you, God's prop to fool JSJr (and you apparently) into thinking the plates had some significance. But more reasonably, a prop for JSJr to fool his scribes.

That must have been one huge hat for a breastplate with spectacles attached to fit inside.

No, the original dude who wore the urim and thummim was only 7 inches tall. He was a Nephite leprechaun translator.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Clearly the two versions are plausible. Any dolt could see that.
