And judging from the notice I get when I try and guest, my children are banned, their children are banned and so on for several generations until the lake of brimstone 'you know where' has ice on it.
I get a message that says the board is offline. Who knew I had such power?

When I try and log on to there my lights flicker and several household appliances inadvertently switch on...

A few times, a strange image of a guy with a beard and ponytail with his arm raised to the square has appeared, saying something about casting out evil spirits.

Hmmm... He didn't have an unpublished manuscript under his arm did he?

I've long been a vocal, and fairly passionate, critic over on FAIR/MAD/MD&D...
I've never understood why people can't engage in civil discourse, however, and bridle their anger/rage/hurt/sadness within respectful-enough discussion so as to avoid becoming a target of banishment.
In the vast majority of cases I've seen, I have trouble blaming the moderators at MD&D for individuals' banishment--it seems to me that one can disagree (even quite vehemently), yet still be civil enough to avoid being cut off.

I'd like to see someone provide examples of my anger, rage, and disrespectful posts on that board. I got banned because Dan Peterson dragged something I wrote on another board to MADB to ridicule it. I apologized for its snarkiness (though it wasn't that offensive), and then I got banned. It seems bizarre that you can get banned for things you do elsewhere.

You were banned because you are a bad person.
Did you learn nothing from all those years in the Church? Remember, those mods over there have the power of discernment.
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

Situations like yours, Runtu, are the reason I wrote, "In the vast majority of cases." I'm not surprised that the mods get trigger happy on rarer occassions, but I believe that's more the exception than the rule.
What kind of response have the mods offered, when you've contacted them, since?
