I was banned, I posted as mikew there. They locked the thread I started a few days ago too. I don't know what I did exactly.

My inactivity kept me alive. Too bad. I used to be worth giving a ban.

Forgive me if my experience/opinion does not mirror yours.

It is entirely and only the MDDB moderators that are to blame for the great majority of people that have been (and continue to be) silenced/banned.

I am convinced that the bannings are done by design, with clear intent, and are deeply rooted in reasons that have little/nothing to due with board contributions/posts by a member (respect, dialouge, civility) but have everything to do with enormously large ego MDDB moderators, extremely arrogant MDDB moderators, and MDDB moderators who use and abuse the power they have to directly control, change, stop, and effect the communication that is read by all.

In addition, this common practice is done with no warning, no communication, and a complete lack of explanation to those whom used to belong to that community. Many times, the banning/silencing is done in the middle of threads where the people who were engaged in those threads have no idea that a person has been banned/eliminated/silenced from those ongoing discussions (Clearly, there are several problems with this when you claim to be a dialouge and discussion board)

Lastly, my experience tells me that it is not what you type there, but who it is that types it, is really what the MDDB is all about.

Just my take. :)

I'm one of the ban victims.......

See my post in the Celestial Forum on it.

I did nothing even close to deserving of being banned, yet I was banned anyway.
What is worse, it's not the first time for getting banned for a completely TAME and unjust reason.

Whoever the moderators are for the last while, have crossed the line, and become the very evil they should be against. I hate to say it, but I entirely agree with Ceeboo's comments above. It is clear in watching MA&DB moderation of the last 3 years or so, they've really entered into Unrighteous Dominion.

Other LDS and anti-mormons like Xanders have said way worse things than I've ever done and much more so, but because they add "intellectual" sounding content, they more often get a pass. Take Pahoran for example on the LDS side. I don't think he needs to be banned, and he adds much, but he's said things for years much more and much worse than my little non-offense, and yet he's still there, and me if I go back I'll be on my 4th username. Man, and I was really wanting to keep this one. MA&DB even banned me before Christianforums.com did (hasn't yet), which is simply unfathomable to me for this username. I have a website under this username that I want to develop, and yet here I am, stuck CRAP, and for what!!??? Cause I simply asked someone to leave me alone??? PLEASE!!!

What's worse is my comment was meant to ask him to stop causing problems (so I wouldn't get banned)...... and I get banned for it!!!

See Xanders "Cipher" thread first page for my supposed great evil.

The moderation at the MDD sucks. All you did was expose someone's pettiness and that poster should have been banned if someone's going to have a hair trigger. I find myself aghast that LDS (ostensibly) would moderate contrary to the principles of the Gospel and more like BYU and BYU-I's Student Life (which organizations are also contrary to the Gospel).

The fact that no one notices who was banned is a real testament to the effectiveness of their moderation tactics.

For clarity (just in case)

Ceeboo did not say or imply that the MDDB moderators were/are evil.

Anyway, good to have you with us. :)

But they are evil. :)

Whatever they are, it is their right to decide what kind of board they want to have and what kinds of posters are welcome. Personally, I think they've lost a lot of interesting and respectful dialogue because of their moderation policies. But again, if that's what they want, that's what they should have.
