Don is a big boy. He decided this place was no longer for him. I don't see the big deal with that. My point was that he managed to reinvigorate his faith as a participant here. After he found his path he moved on. I don't see that as a mark against MDB. It may in fact be a mark in its favor. So what if he prophesied the doom of the board. All things come to an end. It doesn't take a genius to see that.

Yes I dislike most aspects of the Mormonism that I experienced/experience. Yes I disagree with it on many points. I like talking about it, I like discussing it, I like finding things out about it, I like to argue about it - because now this is an outlet for the type of discussion that I want to have but which isn't allowed within the Church.

I see, so we've lost nothing. Don was not all that important a voice here, even though he tried very hard to get his POV across, then eventually gave up because he was drowned out by "alternate voices", and, frankly, just plain bigotry.

By shedding light on the actual facts of Mormonism, I am enabling people to see it for the sham it is. I am helping liberate them. I know from your perspective, that is 'negative'. But in my view, it is a moral imperative. I do not concede the moral high ground to a corrupt organization that whitewashes its background. Not even to the Mormon Church.
You haven't been very successful in "liberating" scholars like Dr. Peterson, Dr. Givens, or, heaven declare - D. Michael Quinn.

Thankfully, there are billions and billions of souls that I did not enslave to the tentacles of Mormonism while on that other mission either.
It is true, Ray, the emotional needs to believe that (a) we will live on forever, (b) we will see our dead loved ones again, (c) all the injustices we are suffering now will be righted, and (d) a 'daddy' is still looking out for and taking care of us run very deeply and strongly with many. Your Dr Peterson might very well be one of them.

And there's no scientific support for any of this, and definitely no anecdotal support. Nope. Can't even be considered.
It's all "emotional", and "unstable" to believe any such things.
Got it. Very open minds here, that's for sure. Draw the conclusion, then defend it with personal dogma, and in the process, don't forget to remind us that science has all truth.
