Do you?

She was complimenting that "photo essay" with the terrible pictures and anti-Mormon captions.

Yeah, that's fine in her book, but pinterest? BANAL AND STUPID!!!!!

As Morley said, you really need to demonstrate that you can read, Simon.

I made two comments on the Photo Essay thread: 1) That most of the negative comments seemed to be responding more to the essay and captions than the photos themselves and 2) that I did not know the photographer.

I expressed no opinion whatsoever on the photo project itself, unless you might want to argue that since I pointed out Shumway was a prolific commercial and editorial photographer that perhaps I was slighting his artistic capabilities. I think that would be a stretch, but it is the closest thing like an opinion on his work that an actual reader might come up with.

As for my dismissal of pininterest, HAVE YOU COMPLETELY LOST YOUR MIND? Pininterest is no more an LDS website than FFFOUND, Flickr, Etsy, reddit or any other social sharing media used by Mormons and nonMormons alike.

That you can derive anti-mormon bigotry from a simple comment on a secular website is seriously disturbing. This kind of comment makes you look like a lunatic. You're not defending Mormonism anymore Simon---if in fact you were ever really doing that---you're just trolling for reactions and throwing tantrums for attention.

Here's some more examples of my glaring anti-mormon bigotry: I hate fondant icing and I don't scrapbook.

No, it isn't. The OP stated "it seems to be a really big Mormon thing."

To which you commented "horrifying design. banal content."

What is the reader supposed to take away from your reply, other than Blixa thinks things that things Mormons like are "horrifying" and "banal?"

There is no need to be hypersensitive. I did not call you a bigot, and I don't think you are.

Harry Potter is popular with Mormons.

If you don't like Harry Potter, you are an anti-Mormon.

Note: We are of course living in a vacuum, with no cultural context, so who is to say that I am not referring to some random person named Harry Potter who is listed in the phone book?

I know some Mormon girls think every women that has access to a computer uses this website a lot.

Or is it just Mormon girls and mostly stay at home moms that like this site so much?

Simon Belmont wrote:Of course, because it's popular with LDS.

If it were an anti-Mormon site, you'd be raving about how great it is.

The wonderful thing is that Belmont knows (through his priesthood discernment?) that Blixa did not actually write what she did because the design and content of the website mentioned in the OP seemed to her to be horrifying and banal respectively. His superior mind-reading skills revealed that she only felt that way because the OP had surmised that the site was "a big Mormon thing". Had it been a site of identical design and content, but mentioned in the OP as being visited mostly by Wiccans, she would have loved it. He is quite sure about that.

And further, in justification:

Simon Belmont wrote:No, it isn't. The OP stated "it seems to be a really big Mormon thing."

To which you commented "horrifying design. banal content."

What is the reader supposed to take away from your reply, other than Blixa thinks things that things Mormons like are "horrifying" and "banal?"

Two justified conclusions might be reached as follows:

1, There is a site whose design and content seem to Blixa to be horrifying and banal.

2. That site is mainly patronized by Mormons.

3. Therefore there is one site mainly patronized by Mormons whose design and content seem to Blixa to be horrifying and banal.

AND

4. Amongst the sites whose design and content seem to Blixa to be horrifying and banal, there is at least one mainly patronized by Mormons.

Now if all that Belmont's clause "Blixa thinks things that things Mormons like are "horrifying" and "banal" " means is (3), no problem. But he is making such a fuss about it that one can only conclude that he means

5. For all sites mainly patronized by Mormons, their design and content seem to Blixa to be horrifying and banal.

For that he has no evidence at all.

Bob loves Dracula.

Bob hates Twilight.

Bob loves a vampire book by a non-Mormon and hates a vampire book by a Mormon.

Therefore, Bob is an anti-Mormon.
