Quas!

Finally I got you to comment on one of my posts. Now I feel complete. :)

Thanks for the tip!

Ludwigm,

I will fix the images under one condition: you tell us your ex-Mormon story. Thank you.

Zee.

Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

Z, had I known you were looking for it, I would have responded much earlier. :)
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Quas,

I was feeling too shy to ask you.

Regarding the Piazzetta painting: yes, I like that one too!

Ludwigm,

Well, I fixed the images for you in hopes (and faith) that you will tell us your story. Please!

Cheers,

Zee.

So listen (or read) to this:

According to the Greek mythology the phoenix lived in Phoenicia next to a well. At dawn, it bathed in the water of the well, and the Greek sun-god Helios stopped his chariot (the sun) in order to listen to its song. Featured in the painting Heracles Strangles Snakes (House of the Vettii, Pompeii Italy) as Zeus, the king of the gods. Herodotus spoke about the unique capability of the bird to be consumed in the flames and be reborn from the ashes.

Anyone ever heard of a link made between Phoenix and Rebecca?

Long shot, I know. But interesting nonetheless!

We need a thread dedicated to the Phoenix. Too bad there isn't really anything Mormon about it.

OK.

A July 2010 photo of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban kissing the hand of a most-delighted U.S. ambassador, Eleni Tsakopoulos Kounalakis, suggests they had a warm relationship.
Lately, though, things have cooled — a lot. Maybe it’s Orban’s increasingly anti-democratic antics. Just the usual stuff — cracking down on the media, curbing the independence of the judiciary, attacks on minorities and a drift toward one-party rule.
