If I recall SWK stated I believe in the book MOF that it was just as bad for a male to run around shirtless as it was for a female to wear a bikini or halter top.

Anyway what an interesting thread.

Good point.

I guess I didn't really see much argument associating lust with rape in the first place. However, the association may be implicit in correlating lust with objectification. It seems then, that even if someone becomes objectified as a sexual object rather than a person, the result isn't rape. Empirically, the result is simply poor decisions.

If rape isn't the problem with objectification, the question becomes what precisely is the problem? Is it that women who are objectified are no longer seen as deserving fair treatment--no longer seen as deserving the power to vote, to be political or business leaders, or to choose their own path in life? If so, that would be quite the strange argument from bcspace--women who wear bikinis are responsible for hindering feminism.

I notice bcspace doesn't object to two piece swimsuits that have boy legs shorts. They show the belly button too.

Nor does he object to tank suits. Or to one piece suits with a V neck cut to the belly button. Or to a one piece suit with no back or sides. Or a one piece suit with the legs cut up to over the hip bone. Or to one piece white suits that tend to disappear when they get wet.

Nor does he object to swimsuits worn by overweight women that really should NOT be worn by overweight women.

Nor does he object to nude beaches.

He objects to bikinis, no matter the size or shape of the woman inside the bikini.

I think he just has no fashion sense.

I really hope BC returns and comments in the thread. I'm genuinely interested in how he'll respond.

Bikiini's should be licenced.

There are certain shapes and sizes that should just not be allowed anywhere near a bikini. Same rule applies for male sppedo's.

In fact I think there are a number of textiles that should be certified for restricted use. Ski pants for instance...
