As the anti-mormon you are, you ignore important facts to make your judgments against the Church.
Callings are not alone....

1. The person being called must be prepared and worthy. Thus, he has choice also.
2. Other members of the ward, if they are aware of a REASON why someone is not to be sustained to a position or calling, they are OBLIGATED to speak up.

The idea that callings are based on "feelings" alone is simply a lie. Both the person and the membership must approve a calling.
If people are hiding who they are, or people know something and don't speak up, then the sin is on that person, not those who in sincerity judge their actions on the outside.

Callings are NOT made from a out of blue fantasy world, but are instead based on what people KNOW of someone.
You guys claim to be truth tellers, but you are nothing of the sort.

So, in other words, all that stuff about spiritual discernment and callings coming from god is bunk. Right?

He will be a bishop like most bishops outside the Mormon corridor. I know of no bishop who asks a masturbation question. Most ask about sexually morality and if one is worthy without putting a name on it. In this day and age to ask such specific personal questions would be suicidal.

He will be a good bishop.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

I think you are right about that.

Not to muddy up this thread but how many bishops do you interact with. I know many bishops outside the Mormon Corridor. I have lived outside it for over 30 years. I know bishops locally who ask the masturbation question.

More evidence the Why me's comments on what happens in the LDS Church should be ignored.

Everybody Wang Chung! I'm so very sorry to see you go. I do hope will still consider posting here. Your particular point of view as a new Bishop would be fascinating.

I think it might be a tough new job, given what I think I know of you. Once one leaves, it's very hard to go back. As Luke said "No servant can serve two masters."

All the best!!!!
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Good luck to you, Bishop! You will be missed around here. Our loss is your ward's gain.

Yet another instance of the "not in my ward" syndrome of apologetics, hehehe.
