Beyond bizarre!

When in Rome, you have to speak like the Romans do. That's the only way they understand.

Frankly, if I were you, I'd do some more reading of the past history of this board before commenting.

It depends, Simon. Only a fool would say yes unconditionally. One has to exercise good judgment. Is the attack a real problem? Is a defense truly necessary? Would my assistance help or hurt? All of these are questions you might have asked yourself before you got involved here, but unfortunately you did not. It is not at all surprising in the context of your many displays of poor judgment on this board.

If you're referring to me, thanks, but I haven't been "enlisted." I don't even know DCP aside from this board. He's never PM'd me or contacted me in any other way.

I simply see an injustice, and no one here will challenge the offender.

I never said Dr. Peterson enlisted you. I told you what I wouldn't do. You should know, however, that Dr. Peterson has entered the fray on your behalf here, as he has acknowledged. So, whether you know him or not, you have benefited from his intervention in the past. Obviously he approves of what you do on some level, or he would not have lifted a finger.

Now, whether any of this was a good idea, or was done the least bit effectively, is another matter entirely. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I see that you believe you possess such intentions in large supply. Unfortunately, it takes a lot more than good intentions to do good. As a venerable text has stated, "Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves."

Jersey obviously understands this much better than you do.

So Simon doesn't think I'm a scum bucket? How disappointing!

Ray, I trust you would understand if I simply pass on the advice you give me.
Yes?

Anyway, if you ever want my advice for you, I would be most happy to extend my hand in your direction.

You know we're in trouble when prophets and apostles of Jesus Christ misrepresent the Lord's Church in such a way. The apologists should really give them a talking to.

I have no problem conceding it was the "standard position". Jesus violated many "standard positions". The question is whether you'll allow for the "spirit of the law", or dogmatically judge others?

I remember Marvin J. Ashton telling a conference in Australia how he enjoyed the Sunday papers and TV in his hotel room. And I remember Henry Marsh racing, but not training on Sundays.

No, because if you're going to make informed comments here, you need to understand the history of this board better. Who pledged to "leave for good", but didn't (It wasn't only DCP), who hated whom yet later became friends, who did multiple somersaults on two million positions, etc. It's an interesting study in human hypocrisy and inconsistency, and I don't exclude myself! No one here stands guiltless.

Don't patronise me. Maybe there are some areas I could seek your "advice", but understanding the history of this board isn't one of them.

Exactly so. My motivation for posting on this thread has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Scratch.

Thanks, Jersey. I figured as much.
