Re: See ya around, chumps
Stem,
As a defender of a myth the cards are stacked against you, because what you defend can easily be proven false when one acknowledges the facts. It takes a very special brand of ignorance to ignore all of the data and actually believe Joseph Smith did incorrectly translate a common Egyptian funerary text to come up with the Book of Abraham, and though it's incorrect, somehow it's the truth. I'm not claiming you're one of those who argue well in defense of this blatantly obvious fact, but my point is that there are few who, at times, attempt to.
Instead of a thread announcing to the world you're leaving, option B would have been to just stop. You seem to like drama, so soak it all up, but months from now I hope you change your mind and decide to bring the good fight in defense of your faith. If I'm right, what you've learned here will hit you like a ton of bricks someday when you decide to acknowledge the truth.

I have a question, now that it is mentioned...
Is there a list anywhere of people who were actively posting as TBMs then went to the other side?

Breaks are good. Sounds like you need a break. I wish you were more accepted and appreciated here. Actuall, I have only read about 1% of your posts so I am ignorant of the history you allude to. Your interaction with me has been delightful, for what it's worth.
Merry Christmas!

Stem, no one else has said it, so I’ll say it, and I say it from my heart:
You’re a terrible poster.

I went over to the dark side. Until about 6 years ago, I was an active LDS high priest who posted pro-LDS material on MADB and elsewhere. But then I got offended by milk strippings or wanted to sin, or something.
Several people here have rejected the light for the dark.

Even though you trashed me unmercilessly on the MADD board and told me that was you when I first joined this board, I have become rather fond of your rhetoric and no longer hold any negative feelings towards you at all. I will actually miss you.
I think it is unfortunate when any apologist leaves the board. It is already unbalanced and this makes it worse.
So I hope you reconsider and come back. Yeah, I regret that a few overbearing posters can spoil it for the rest of us that really want to have some meaningful conversation with opposing viewpoints.
It certainly isn't possible at MADD (I've been banned multiple times so I gave up there) so this board is the best hope we have of both camps getting together.
You are welcome to come back any time.

I started out as a TBM 1997ish. I was at BYU.

I started on alt.religion.Mormon in 1995, but it wasn't until 2005 that I finally acknowledged what I think I'd known for a long time.
