Fascinating thread. I feel like I should have made some popcorn.

Perhaps a poll is in order.

Maybe we need to get a list of candidates first. We've already got Hauglid and Bokovoy. I think Don Bradley should be on the ballot too. Maybe Brant Gardner as well? Who else?

Plus, we need a good name for the award. Ideas?

I'll throw one out: Mopologist Trailblazer of the Year. Not very clever, I admit. I'm sure someone else can come up with something better.

Kerry Shirts is a regular presence. He still regularly produces his "Backyard Professor" videos.

What? No booby prize for Schryver? DCP? Hamblin?

Well, DCP deserves credit for MST, surely. Have the other two even done anything worth mentioning lately?

There's a bit of irony here. First of all, none of the above post here anymore. David B. and Dan Peterson, from what I gather, and their BBQs together, are actually good friends. Hauglid? Has he ever posted here? Would he? Don Bradley left "this place" with a prophecy that it was doomed to fail. lol. Anyone seen Nevo lately? Touted as one of the "most fair apologists".

Here was Nevo's last comment before he left this board (Fri Oct 07, 2011):

Isn't it perfectly obvious to you that it is impossible to have a rational discussion with these people anymore? This thread has left me shaking my head like few others I have ever seen on this board, and that is really saying something. There is a violent, irrational undercurrent that has started to accompany almost every discussion that goes on here. To me, it's very disturbing. Like some kind of corner has been turned and suddenly it's not all fun and games anymore. There's no more point in trying to talk to them. It's gone way past that.

I agree. This board has turned into RfM. I'm done with this place.

Nevo was wrong, as much as I like him.

Well it's obvious you're not inclined to do an evaluation, or even think for one moment that there could possibly be something wrong here. That's not what I call being open-minded, nor considering other viewpoints.

Yes, MDDB certainly is an echo chamber. It's too bad Nevo prefers one.
