My mother used to bake bread. I could smell it down the street as I was walking home from school. The aroma carried me the last few yards.

Thank you, kind Z! I remember it when I lived in Utah... the sage brush exploded in aroma when the rains fell. Here (So. Cal) the Mojave has creosote bushes. Added to the sage smell, it's even better. When I lived in the Antelope Valley you could smell the rain on the wind long before you saw any sign of it.

Smell: The smell of burning sage

Sight: The sun hitting the Rocky Mountains right where Red Rocks Ampitheater is

Touch: warm lips on warm lips

Taste: Dove caramel promises...the perfect blend of milk chocolate and smooth caramel

Sound: the crackle of a campfire

The sunset lighting Red Rocks. No one can see this without feeling something. I wonder what that something is.

I don't think there is a "biological imperative" that could explain this. It's these sort of things that keep me an agnostic. I still wonder if there is something beyond the mundane that inspires us.

There are very good reasons in the physics of optics why this image looks like this. Are there good philosophical reasons why it effects us emotionally?

Milk chocolate? Bah! Dark chocolate is the only true chocolate on the face of the earth.
