A truer top ten I have never seen.

For a convert who is the only Mormon in their family:
Mom and Dad.
Brothers and Sisters.
Grandmas and Grandpas.
Aunts and Uncles.
Cousins.
Your old pastor and sunday school teachers.
Lifelong friends.
Everyone in your old neighborhood you grew up in.
People who will be at your temple wedding.
Your spouse's family and friends.
People from your ward.
The missionaries who heard that some of your non-member family or friends might be waiting outside the temple.

Small sacrifice, if the church is what it claims to be.
Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

I know friends and cousins who couldn't attend a temple wedding despite having valid temple recommends because they were asked not to have such a large crowd in the sealing room.
Take that recommend holders!

I know. I wish there was a way to get this "[quote="xxxxx"]" to return "xxxxx said". I noticed it after I posted but didn't care enough to fix it.
Edit: Fixed it for you.

My wife said it would be wonderful to marry in the temple. (in Freiberg or wherever)
I've asked back: How many of our 5 children and 19 grandchildren could take part?
She didn't ever mentioned it again...

Things were different 40 years ago. We didn't have a temple on every block. I was married 900 miles from home. It was a 2 day trip just going one way. Literally none of those people would have been there, even if they'd held TRs.
The only people there were my husband and I, his parents and his grandparents. Since we had to take 2 cars through the freakin' blizzard of the century, I wasn't feeling the least bit deprived. I was just glad someone else was driving! His grandparents got stuck on the wrong side of the blizzard, and had to drive 14 hours the next day in order to get to the town the temple was in, so they could take his parents home with them. They missed the whole thing, but they came anyway, because they wanted to show their support for their family. I can't fault them for that.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
