You and George lay out a case based on clear and obvious evidence, which Wade consistently misunderstands. Will chimes in with nothing more than the usual ad hominem, but, you know, he's right because he uses a lot of exclamation points!
Wade then acknowledges that he is intentionally ignorant of scholarly work done on the history and origins of the Book of Mormon. Then Will and Bill Hamblin mock George for saying that Wade ought to actually read something on the subject. Hamblin, of course, is of the school of thought that insists that, unless you've read the relevant apologetic scholarship, you have no business commenting on anything.
Runtu, you might be a prophet. Your prophesy about how Hamblin would respond was spot on. He did indeed complain about the dearth of sources from his favorite presses and authors.

Wait, I thought you and Will were friends. What happened?

by the way - what is really going on in the way this thread is being managed by MDDB? There seem to be two possibilities here:
1. Someone has taken over moderation (at least for this thread) who actually believes, as a matter of principle, in running an open discussion without abuse, derailing, or irrelevant speculation about posters' motives. Hmmmm ....
2. Someone wants to see Schryver's 'cipher' theory (or whatever the 'cipher' theory has currently morphed into) thoroughly hung out to dry, and knows that Kevin Graham is the man to do it, so long as he gets fair play. Could it be that someone at NAMIRS needs to make sure that they cannot come under renewed pressure to publish Schryver's work after the noise about his crudely misognyistic posting style has died down? Letting Kevin Graham take him to pieces publicly while Schryver abuses the mods on a determinedly pro-LDS board seems a pretty good way to do that.
Chap,
A third possibility is that it could be as simple as site traffic. This is by far their biggest draw.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."
Runtu wrote: .... Oh, wait. That would assume he ever had a ball in the first place.
Now then Runtu! That's the kind of rude thing that naughty Mr Schryver used to say about people. We want no more of that, if you please.
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

I had to read that sentence ten times before I finally understood that it meant:
Dear Droopy,
Kevin and George are destroying Wade over there.

I love Will over there. Keeps asserting that he is correct and that his forth coming research being reviewed by (drop some mopolgist name here) and that it will be the be all end all of KEP, GAEL research........
While never addressing issues, actually producing any papers, nor posting any refutation outside of character assassination. Some real scholarship going on there.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality. ~Bill Hamblin
I wouldn't put good odds on Will's research ever seeing the light of day. I wonder if he has more than a few half-started chapters done, with a lot of notes. And now it's been publicly refuted before he could publish it, and he's retreating to where? He can't even find safe haven at his home board anymore.
I hope I'm wrong, though. He should finish what he's doing and publish it, even if he has to self-publish.
