i found the video to be well produced and touching too. too often members and curious people alike lose sense of what it means to be human: to feel and to embrace our limited natures. the video is not meant to be a scientific documentary. that would pervert what religion is really all about. i am pleased in general.

It is well done for what it's trying to accomplish--reaching out to the faithful. But it's purpose was not to critically deal with Book of Abraham issues. If you come at it from that vantage point you will encounter some serious weaknesses. And I'm not so sure summarily dismissing critical views (as is done in the video) is what religion is all about either.

What is supposedly so "spiritual" about a LIE? I mean, since your subjective "testimony" is in support of an objectively proven and easily observable LIE ...you have obviously been deceived. The FACT is, the original papyrus contains NOTHING that pertains to the content of Smith's alleged "translation" into the so-called "Book of Abraham". Every qualified Egyptologist who has ever published on the matter (including both LDS Egyptologists) has clearly identified the Book of Abraham's source document as just another copy of the usual "breathing permit" required by the Egyptian mythological religion.

Please explain why the Egyptians burried people with a copy of the "Book of Abraham" instead of the doucments required by their own pagan beliefs.

It defies reason to equate the Book of Abraham with Moby Dick. But we do agree that the purpose of the video is to build faith and testimony. This puts the video squarely within a subjective framework.
