Indeed. Visual stimulants are porn by definition, according to LDS.

The Mormon youth pamplet should just as well teach that passionate kissing between two hot boys might just break a little furniture or punch some plaster out of the walls. Is there anything more powerful than two boys kissing in total delight? Nope! It is the very power that drives the universe and tells God what to do and when to do it. Male on male is total power!!

There is nothing more powerful than two hot boys kissing and going at it!

Dear Zelder,

Do you believe LDS thinks it's okay for a person to masturbate? If so, why?

Thank you,

Zee.

I'm not sure what they think anymore becasue it seems they have been silent on the subject for 10 years now. It would be very interesting to be able to pose the question to the 15 apostles and get a group discussion and see what they say. They might still think it's wrong but don't dare speak out about it anymore. Maybe they realize they were wrong and caused damage to their members. Maybe there is disagreement among them. I don't know.

I personally don't think its wrong. It's only wrong if its done at the expense of a lover.

Zelder,

Let me remind you of words from the new FSofY pamphlet:

Do not do anything else that arouses sexual feelings. Do not arouse those emotions in your own body. Pay attention to the promptings of the Spirit so that you can be clean and virtuous. The Spirit of the Lord will withdraw from one who is in sexual transgression.

What happens when a person masturbates? Would you agree that exactly what LDS says not to allow, must be allowed for masturbation to work?

After reading the following quote from the current FSofY pamphlet, do you see how the implication is that youth should confess masturbation to their bishop?

If you are tempted to commit any form of sexual transgression, seek help from your parents and bishop. Pray to your Father in Heaven, who will help you resist temptation and overcome inappropriate thoughts and feelings. If you have committed sexual transgression, talk to your bishop now and begin the process of repentance so that you can find peace and have the full companionship of the Spirit.

After reading the following quote from the current FSofY pamphlet, do you see the strong implication that masturbation is considered a serious sin, given the context of this quote and previous references to arousal of sexual feelings?

Serious sins, such as sexual transgression or use of pornography, need to be confessed to your bishop. Be completely honest with him. He will help you repent. If you have a question about what should be discussed with the bishop, talk with your parents or with him.

And that makes sense. Much better for each boy and girl to go by the spirit and not by your groups definitions.

This is a major affront to this board. This board loves to talk about masturbation and how repressive the LDS is about it.

Times are changing. And sexual immorality is growing and is common place. It is all over the television and in the media. And so is the advice that it is okay to masturbate as frequently as one wants. The LDS church has a difficult time fighting the media and its message. Not to mention that advice that is given in schools.

So, we have vague concepts such as sexual arousal. Teenagers are discovering their sexuality. They are noticing their attractions. What the church teaches is simple: it is natural to be attracted to the other sex. It is normal. But the problem starts when one just concentrates on sexual arousal. Attraction and sexual arousal do not necessarily need to walk hand in hand.

And all the while you find that to be quite fascinating. I don't see you failing to give the subject up. You seem to be on the ball. I guess that means you fit right in with the rest of us.
