The community of Christ are stuck at 200,000. They aren't going anywhere. But you can join, if you wish.

Just ask yourself the following two questions:

1. Could the LDS Church, as currently operated, function without women?

2. Could the LDS Church, as currently operated, function without men?

See what I mean about secondary?

And my wife, being neither blind nor a drooling idiot, also sees that LDS women are treated as inferior to LDS men.

The answer to your questions is no. The church could not function without men or without women. They both compliment the other.

Your wife should speak up in church, maybe in relief society about it and get a random sampling of opinions.

Women in general are the neck of a man's head. And I am sure that it is the same in your home as it is in many homes.

Now do men have the priesthood in church. Yes, they do. But from what I have seen if they even hint at beig superior because of it, it will be a very sad day for them. The neck will give the head a headache.

Another negative thinker. Are you usually so cynical?

Well inactivity rates do tend to hang in the 70-80% range so I'm just assuming a continuation of the pattern.

Are still inactive?
Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07

The point is that consig can show her videos of the church in africa and how it is helping people and the amount of aid that is going there and the help that this aid is doing. This is all very positive. He can also show her the testimonies of african americans that I have posted on this thread to show her that time moves forward and these african americans are benefiting from their membership.

Lets look at ameica's past. Terrible things happened in american history and when compared to Mormon history, Mormon history smells like a arrangement of flowers. And yet, most here are proud to be an american.

It is amazing that the church can function at all. Truly amazing with those high figures. By the standards from the early 80's, I would be considered inactive. But some have told me that no, I am not inactive because I do attend some of the meetings.

I love it and that's how I feel too. I'm not going to throw the baby out with the bath water. The president of the church is not some kind of mircophone through which god speaks. They don't have the answers either. I still believe in God though and I believe there is a lot of good in the church and my kids will be better off with the church than without. If people like us quit the church then they loose big. They need us even if they don't know it.

i am pretty sure this statement is false. the prophet is a prophet and that means he speaks to the lord with the counselors as witnesses. if you think the prophet is just some guy that has no greater insight into the mind of god or access, what is the point of the prophet?

what?

Why me,

Just because people "look happy" in life ... what does that prove to you? I just think that it's a non sequitur type statement. It's almost as if you looked at them and said, "They wear a cool overcoat. Do you wear a cool overcoat?"

So what if they're happy?

So, you're of the opinion that Jesus and the 12 really do have Wednesday brunch in the Salt Lake temple?
