Well, he did ask the question is god racist or BY. I said god. Consig then said that he couldn't worship a racist god so I suppose that he is an atheist now.

Interestly consig needs to be more positive about the church with his daughter. Certainly talking about the past and the present is a good way to do it. Nothing wrong with showing the africans in africa joining the church or those who joined the church.

Certainly we all can go to the Bible and be amazed about what happened in the Bible. In the new testament, a couple were killed by god for lying about their tithing. I suppose that god is not only racist but a murderer too. And yet, he does have a great deal of compassion for all people.

Such is god.

Swinging at why me's pitching gives most anyone a good batting average. It's worth another look even if you were hitting some home runs. The post-game reel is always fun to look at under such circumstances.

Maybe not. We need to remember that no Mormon should ever go hungry or without provisions. The LDS church does take care of its own. This goes for all colors in the human race. It is a rainbow of help.

Consider me guilted into submission.

Reading your posts now is very interesting. You seem to count yourself above the Mormons because you seem to use the Mormon term as if you are no longer one. Or if you are, you are too superior to be one of the 'Mormons'.

More than anyone I've met online, Consiglieri has been consistent in expanding the minds of the LDS people with whom he interacts. If I recall correctly, Consig is a secretary in his High Priests group - not a high and holy calling by any means; some would say he has been given this calling to keep him under wraps. Even so, Consig has shown that he can make silk from a sow's ear - he challenges his peers in leadership and he challenges his group members, as he has recounted in this forum.

One who counts himself above Mormons, as you put it, WhyMe, would not share information as freely as Consig does. I'd even go so far as to say that if my ward had a Consiglieri with whom I felt simpatico, I may still be an active and participating member of the church.

I used to label Consig a maverick, and shamefully, I probably told him something to that effect over on the other board. But I've come to learn this - Consig does good.

That is a lesson you'd do well to learn, WhyMe.

Why Me, for some reason, you seem to think that you are persecuted on this board because you defend the Church. That is not the case.

The reason you have problems with posters on this board is because you have a pattern of throwing ad homs and judgmental comments to posters like Consig and Just Me, who are both active members, and have "put their money where their mouth is", in a way that you have publicly admitted you don't do. You, by choice, are not an active member. You do not hold a calling. You have not sacrificed for the Church on a daily basis, like some of these other folks have. Based on this, why should you be taken seriously?

If the tables were turned, would YOU take you seriously?

Also, your discussion of the positive merits of a "Mormon lay"...talking about it as if it is something that should be taught and encouraged to young adults, and is a perfectly acceptable practice, is beyond absurd. It once again shows how out of touch with the day to day living of Mormonism that you really are.
