The closest I came to being love-bombed as an ex-member was when a Relief Society president I'd never met before came to see me years ago. She brought some treats and some frig decor ... you know, little paper doohickies with messages ...
Strangely enough, I liked the treats, and I even liked the frig thingies; they were very cleverly made, and I actually put them on the frig. I really liked this woman, we hit it off and had a lovely conversation. I couldn't have said a single bad thing about her (which is not normal for me, I assure you). Our visit ended with her literally crying on my shoulder because some of her children had gone inactive.
It was a total love-fest, but it didn't get me back to church on Sunday. I guess I'm just that stiff-necked.

Speaking of love bombs, our ward has actually come up with a neat Christmas tradition. Several of us are anonymous Christmas elves. We randomly pick families in the ward who we feel have maybe gone through a rough time...or, in my case, a family that has really given a lot of service to the ward...and give them 12 days of Christmas treats. The family never knows who gives the treats. We leave a treat on their doorstep every day from the 12th of December on, leading up to Christmas Eve day.
We had a lot of fun coming up with different treats for our family. My son had a ball being the secret deliverer.
This is the type of love bombing I think that wards should do more of.
Sorry for derailing. Now, back to Darth's pity party. I did my part of putting him into a sugar coma. Who is next? LOL
