What if that child was yours? Still okay?

You assume good from his pov...

Do you believe all the living species of animal and plant life that exist on the earth today stem from that one boat containing eight people that survived a worldwide food that happened four to five thousand years ago?
And that Jeffrey Holland was correct in stating that the flood waters receded when the continents split from each other?

It is true. Kish, do you understand why God divorced Herself from Heavenly Father yet? Wouldn't you divorce Him if he drowned kids like that?

Sure, our new God once turned someone into a spider... I know. But that pales in comparison to Heavenly Father's mean-spirited ways. She has since repented of that. Heavenly Father never repented of the flood, that I'm aware of. Or has He?

i think some plants and animals were able to survive the flood on their own.

i haven't heard anything about the second part.

Lizard,

Jeffrey Holland in the Ensign in 1976:

Quote:
Holy scripture records that “after the waters had receded from off the face of this land it became a choice land above all other lands, a chosen land of the Lord; wherefore the Lord would have that all men should serve him who dwell upon the face thereof.” (Ether 13:2.) Such a special place needed now to be kept apart from other regions, free from the indiscriminate traveler as well as the soldier of fortune.
To guarantee such sanctity the very surface of the earth was rent. In response to God’s decree, the great continents separated and the ocean rushed in to surround them. The promised place was set apart. Without habitation it waited for the fulfillment of God’s special purposes.

On what do you base your belief that animals (other than marine life obviously) survived without being on the ark?

They can.

What do you think of Hollands statement?
