There are millions of Jews and Muslims that would disagree with you, bc. Christianity is just another side track from the original Jewish religion. There are a few.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Yes, Judaism no longer exists. The Jews are Christians now.

But what's even funnier about bcspace's answer is its unwitting admission that some Christians have to try rationalizing the Genesis creation myth with modern science because they're stuck with it. Not all Christians, of course, but biblical literalists are. And that is even more so of a problem for Latter-day Saints, because Joseph Smith was both a biblical literalist and claimed to be a prophet whose purported revelations and scriptures were based on his literal understanding of the Bible. In other words, Latter-day Saints in particular are stuck with it.

Watching bcspace unfold his concept of history and anthropology that perforce assumes that the Church is true is a lot like listening to a rabid Star Trek fan insist he knows how dilithium crystals would power the warp drive of the starship Enterprise.

I'm all for The Theogony of Hesiod.

(ll. 116-138) Verily at the first Chaos came to be, but next wide-bosomed Earth, the ever-sure foundations of all the deathless ones who hold the peaks of snowy Olympus, and dim Tartarus in the depth of the wide-pathed Earth, and Eros (Love), fairest among the deathless gods, who unnerves the limbs and overcomes the mind and wise counsels of all gods and all men within them. From Chaos came forth Erebus and black Night; but of Night were born Aether and Day, whom she conceived and bare from union in love with Erebus. And Earth first bare starry Heaven, equal to herself, to cover her on every side, and to be an ever-sure abiding-place for the blessed gods. And she brought forth long Hills, graceful haunts of the goddess-Nymphs who dwell amongst the glens of the hills. She bare also the fruitless deep with his raging swell, Pontus, without sweet union of love. But afterwards she lay with Heaven and bare deep-swirling Oceanus, Coeus and Crius and Hyperion and Iapetus, Theia and Rhea, Themis and Mnemosyne and gold-crowned Phoebe and lovely Tethys. After them was born Cronos the wily, youngest and most terrible of her children, and he hated his lusty sire.
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

Richard Dawkins' new book that features a discussion and illustrations related to some of the creation myths mentioned above is entitled,

The Magic of Reality: How We Know What is Really True

A review of this book can be found at:

The book was written mainly for students and children. It makes a good reality check / counterbalance to correlated Primary and Sunday School lessons.

Because Christianity is what Judaism became.

Yes, Judaism no longer exists.

Never said that.

The Jews are Christians now.

Nope, many of them missed the boat back in the first century. And while they are still God's first chosen, they are currently laboring in the world without the truth and blessings the rest of us have access to.

Exactly.

That is exactly what is meant by the unqualified statement, "Because Christianity is what Judaism became."

The Jews are Christians now.

Nope, many of them missed the boat back in the first century. And while they are still God's first chosen, they are currently laboring in the world without the truth and blessings the rest of us have access to.

It's wonder the Jews can tolerate their journey through this veil of tears without having living prophets of God tell them that the Motion Picture Association of America is divinely inspired to know which movies should be rated R because God doesn't want us to see them.

That must be it, bcspace. Your intricate understanding of warp field coils and matter/anti-matter reactions so dazzles us that we forget that Star Trek isn't real.

Surely there is a rabbi out there somewhere who quotes Robert Frost poems and tells stories about bringing cookies to widows.
