The Kingdom of Jesus

Post by _just me »

So, when Jesus comes and reigns the earth what would we call his kingdom?

It seems to me that it could be described as an absolute monarchy that is theocratic in nature.

All the opposition will be murdered, so it proposes to bring about peace through war and murder.

All those who live will bow and call him the Christ. Doesn't sound like there will be a choice.

What are the laws going to be?

What will be the consequences for disobedience to the laws?

How will these laws be enforced?

Why is this something to look forward to?

This is exactly what it will be. The question I have is, will He be a puppet king, with HF holding the strings?

All the opposition will be murdered, so it proposes to bring about peace through war and murder.
You bet. Not a huge change from the historic practices of HF.

All those who live will bow and call him the Christ. Doesn't sound like there will be a choice.
remember those folks in the Book of Mormon who found a way to secretly worship? That will be me. I will be mouthing the words to #187 God Loved us, so He sent His son, but I will be singing "God Loved us, so She sent Her Love.

What are the laws going to be?
wide and deep. But I think wine will be allowed and women's garment tops won't have sleeves. Celebrate! God, that will be nice.

What will be the consequences for disobedience to the laws?
let's say you get caught praying to the "wrong" God. That means trouble for you! You will have to go to the temple quarry just outside Jameson, MO and chip rocks with a chisel and hammer for 3 years. Justin Beiber will be blasted over loud speakers to help dull the sound of chipping granite.

How will these laws be enforced?
I don't need to tell you Jesus will have an easy time recruiting Danites, do I?

Why is this something to look forward to?
Best question ever! I don't think it matters. It is part of HF's plan that's why it will happen.

I wonder if the true believers will be called on to do the dirty work. I'm glad I won't have to make that decision.

I don't know … It's like an old John Wayne movie. There are white hats and there are black hats. The black hats always have to raise hell in the beginning and pay the price, with interest, in the end. The cowboy and the maiden then ride off into the sunset, and all is right with the world.

How many times have we cheered for the just revenge to come? How many times have the emotions of the climatic final scene, with the just and the good prevailing brought a tear to our eyes?

Good over Evil, right over wrong, final peace after so much turmoil.

Funny thing about Japanese culture … they love tragic/sad endings in their theater.
Not enough Christian influence I suppose.

Already a given ... "two shall turn away 10k" and there will be 144k of these "high priests"

Some quick math 144k*10k/2 = 720,000,000 potential dead from the 144k

I reject the premise of the question, so if you're looking for an answer from me you won't find it.

You've reduced a huge theological debate, that has been waged for thousands of years, down to a few atheist buzzwords.

But, that's the way it is.

Crucifixion. If it's good for the goose...

Crucifixion. It's good for the gander.

Live violence. We'll all be living a Quintin Tarantino movie. Good times.

Hoops,

It's called boiling it down. Get all the hot steam out of the way.

It will be the religious equivalent of a military junta brought about by a bloody coup. People will still have a choice but if they choose wrong, they die or get exiled. Nice.
