As to the OP, I always felt that when Christ came back and ruled it would be more of a theocracy. Satan would be bound for 1000 years, so there would be no evil. Everyone would know the truth, and everyone would want to be nice and help one another. I always felt that if you were living during the Millennium, you would have it pretty easy. Basically, everyone living and dying during that time frame would go to the CK.

I think this type of apocalyptic scenario tends to be prevalent among Christian groups that find themselves a persecuted minority; it is their way of saying God is letting this happen to us right now to prove our loyalty, but God is coming real soon to set things right and kick some serious butt. At that time, we will be vindicated in spades. And won't that feel good?
It is probably not a coincidence that when a Christian group becomes established and finds itself more accepted by, and even successful in, the world, these types of apocalyptic scenarios tend to not be stressed.

I guess I just am thinking that it is so obvious that that the very concept of Jesus' Kingdom is born of a certain era that it would be going BACKWARDS in our evolution as a species and WHY would anyone want to do that? I mean, I understand that lots of people yearn for a past time thinking that somehow "the good old days" were better than today...but they weren't. And I have never heard anyone say they wish we lived in an absolute monarchy/theocracy.
Yet....they yearn for "Zion."
A Zion that we really know too little about. What we do "know" about it scares the crap out of me.

This was another question I had. HOW will everyone just be nice and helpful and not do "bad" stuff? How will human nature be altered? How will disease be eradicated?
Oh, and another, not directed at you, why can't Jesus come up with a better way to fix things than murdering all the opposition?

Well, since people are born neither good nor evil, with a perfect administration of the world, which one would expect with Jesus as King, then it should be pretty easy for folks to behave themselves.

In terms of Jesus "murdering all the opposition" when He comes back; I think they'll pretty much murder themselves as the Lamanites and Nephites did. God uses the wicked to punish the wicked. As to choice of acknowledging Jesus Christ as King? As I write this, it's about 11 AM in Arizona, U.S.A. The sun is shining brightly. If I went out and asked all my neighbors, "Is the sun shining?" I'm sure they'd all say "yes", even though they have the freedom to say "no". That's hardly a denial of agency; it's just a "no-duh" recognition of a universal truth. Basically, what's going to happen, is this Telestial without glory kingdom of Lucifer we now live in will be upgraded to a Terresterial world while we work out the perfecting of this Kingdom of Christ so He can ultimately present it to His Father for the Father's glory. All that is Telestial will have to be removed, probably to spirit prison, so the lower influences won't hamper the work. It's like refining ore into gold; part of the process is to remove all the stuff that isn't gold. And, so, we must ask ourselves: are we, at least at this point, of a Terresterial nature, "honorable men of the earth" . . . D & C 76: 75. so we can participate in this great project, and maybe lift ourselves to Celestial status in the process?
