Actually I think he is a lot more entertaining then he knows.

That's a pretty serious accusation, pilgrim.

I hereby request you show any lies told you on this board.

(If you can't demonstrate the truth of this assertion, I will consider your other assertions of equal merit.)

Apparently there are no (or at least VERY few) such people here.

My problem is simple: you want "substantive" debate but you want to severely restrict the playing field. In your challenge about lost doctrines, for example, you insisted that Mormons had to show where the lost doctrines were in the Bible, where they said the doctrines would not be. The premise was fatally flawed from the beginning, and when I pointed that out, that's when you started calling me names. It doesn't hurt my feelings (I've been called much worse), but it does indicate that some people aren't interested in real discussion.

hope life has been treating you well. I think you display a fairly good argument but I am not sure many LDS hardliners would support this interpretation, not that it really matters.

Thanks, lostindc! It is good to see you back.

At least part of this is what Truman Madsen taught.

He wrote a long paper regarding the name of God in which he intimated strongly that the name of God the Father is what is revealed through the veil at the end of the endowment ceremony.

Of course he didn't come right out and say it.

I wasn't sure I was right about what he was saying, so I wrote him a letter in which I put the pieces together from his paper and asked (slightly obliquely) if that is what he was getting at.

Truman Madsen was kind enough to write me back under the letterhead of the BYU Jerusalem Center with a one word response.

Yes!

I have never shared it before, but feel Brother Madsen wouldn't mind.

I actually already did make a ruling earlier in the thread:

And, although the ruling was in your favor, don't press your luck. You have been teetering on the edge of this particular board rule:

I tend to try to minimalize splitting threads in order to keep continuity. You are new to the board, so I am issuing you a friendly warning. Quit pushing the edge of the envelope.

As far as LDST's concern regarding inviting and "de-inviting" people to the board, as a respected board member, I took his thoughts under consideration when I made the call. I trusted that you were not "de-inviting" anyone from the board, but rather, "de-inviting" them from engaging you personally.

I would strongly suggest that you familiarize yourself with the rules of the board, which can be found here:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=26

This will avoid any need for suspension. I will hold you fully accountable to the rules in the future.

Yes, it does. All of the rules here do. If you, or anyone finds a violation of the rules, we encourage you to use the Report feature. If you are unfamiliar with how to use it, please PM me.
