Wow, quite an ad. It's definitely playing the Mormon card. Fascinating that Huntsman would run that (pot and kettle?).
Is he distancing himself from the LDS? It seems that any other candidate could run the very same ad against Huntsman. He must have thought it through. I wonder what the strategy is?
Are you sure that's a real ad and not just some hoax?
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Huntsman is trying to have his cake and eat it too. He's distanced himself from the Church and yet basks in anything positive that may come from his being associated with the Church.
by the way, he may still be on the records of the Church as a member, but he certainly is not LDS in belief or deed.

Of the 14 million members on record, using your definition of who the real Mormons are, how many real Mormons are there in the world? 500? 1000?

What an ad.
While the content of the add is both accurate and relevant, I am a bit surprised that Huntsman personally endorses it. Seems that something like this would be better used by a SuperPAC.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see if, and how, it gets used in the campaign. Being from Florida, I think that an ad like that could damage Romney here, provided that Huntsman's campaign can afford the airtime.

Is that a real Huntsman campaign video?
I know it has the "I'm Jon Huntsman and I approve this message" tag at the end, but that could have been edited in from another video.
I'm surprised if it is. Calling the LDS church racist repeatedly doesn't seem like something Huntsman would do, and I think that the video is unfair to Mitt in that it does not mention his family's political activity in the civil rights movement.

Judging from belief and action, the number is immediately cut to 30% of 14 million as that is the number (anecdotal from my own experience) of temple recommend holders or members of those households.
After that, you have to find out how many of those are Democrats or other political liberals. In my neck of the woods which is 95% LDS (and not in Utah), voter records showed for the 2008 election, about 3500 votes for McCain and about 500 for Obama. Negligible for everyone else though perhaps 50 votes for the Constitution party which as far as I can tell, like the GOP, does not conflict with LDS doctrine.
Problem is, we don't really know how many of those are TR holders and active in the Church. But factoring in that percentage as if they were (assuming they are most likely to vote), perhaps 18% of LDS in the USA or 18% in high percentage LDS areas are "real" members.

ldsfaqs,
Some valuable free advice: now that you have apparently been able to drop the CAPS from your posts, why not try to cut down on use of the word "idiot"?
After that, you could get rid of the exclamation points. Then you would be in pretty good shape in terms of style and start to work on your content.

Here's my response to the video.....
Your video is ONE BIG ANTI-MORMON LIE....!
1. The Church never was "racist". It always taught against racism, was abolitionist, etc.
2. The "ban" only applied to those of African Lineage, black or white. 100,000's of black Mormons WERE given the Priesthood, Central/South America, Islands, India, etc.
3. The Church NEVER "segregated" it's members, all races and colors worshiped together. Segregation occurred in the non-mormon South, NOT Mormonism.
4. Mormonism NEVER taught that black people were inferior. Yes, some individuals had that opinion, in trying to find a reason for the ban, but the Church itself never officially taught that.
5. Public issues with the Church were long gone and over nearly 10 years before the ban was lifted. There was no public pressure at the time.
6. Would JFK have loved the Church, would the author of the book/movie ROOTS received an award from the Church if they thought it racist?
