What an ad.

While the content of the add is both accurate and relevant, I am a bit surprised that Huntsman personally endorses it. Seems that something like this would be better used by a SuperPAC.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see if, and how, it gets used in the campaign. Being from Florida, I think that an ad like that could damage Romney here, provided that Huntsman's campaign can afford the airtime.

The ad isn't accurate and relevant..... It's a lying anti-mormon hit-piece as I show above.
It uses a little truth to tell great lies. That's not being "accurate".
Of course, I understand anti-mormon standards like yours is different, but still.

1. The Church never was "racist". It always taught against racism, was abolitionist, etc.

It seems like the two Mormons in the GOP race to be the nominee are attacking each other constantly and here is an ad from Huntsman attacking Mitt Romney for being a racist Mormon.

Do you think that this sort of attack is going too far?

I do think it is going to far. Mormonism has racist teachings, that's clear. However, that does not mean every 'devout' Mormon ascribes to those racist views.

Romney, and his parents, have a long history of having taken rather liberal views vis-a-vis Mormonism's teachings. So I think that it is a non sequitur to say that because Romney is a Mormon he is therefore a racist.

Whether Romney is or is not a racist is a question that does not follow necessarily from his religious affiliation, even if he is affiliated with COJCOLDS and its has racists teachings, not only in its past but in its current, correlated materials now available on the LDS.org website.

You are, of course, correct sock. I suspect Mitt is not a racist. It's going to be very hard, though, for his opponents to resist the temptation to use the history of the Mormons against him. Politics has always been a dirty game. It seems to be getting dirtier these days.

There are many other "uncomfortable" facts about the Church that I'm sure will be brought up in later days and associated with Mitt. Magic underwear comes to mind.
