The fact that a very conservative fellow like Huntsman is often labeled a moderate is proof of how far to the right those definitions have moved in recent years.

He regretted doing so as the Democrats, who controlled Congress, kept promising to cut spending but never did. It took the Republican Congress in 1994 to force Clinton to do that. Yes, Saint Ronnie does measure up as a conservative even today, just a gullible one. It's going to take decades of hard-line conservatism to erase the damage done by Democrats. But I'll settle for two more very young conservatives on the Supreme Court.
