Hitting the Road
I'm going to be leaving this place for a while. I don't know when I'll be back, and don't really care. This place is an outhouse, and I'm tired of feeling, all too often, that I have to gather with many of the other posters here at the bottom of it to make my points and field my arguments.
I may be back, periodically, to carry forward some of the ongoing discussions with Stak and whoever else wishes to join in intelligent, civil, intellectually productive discussion and debate in the Celestial room as those discussions proceed (and its usually quite slowly there), but beyond that, I'm gone.
Ciao.

Adios, Droopy. My offer still stands--I'll send you the .pdf of that article if you want it.

They have a word for these types of threads, but I can't remember it.
I'm just happy that Droopy is gonna stop using our home as a crapper.

I guess that explains why you dump your s**t here.

Re: Hitting the Road
Droopy,
Your OP reminds me of a similar lament by DCP. Just before he left, he said some of the same things that you did to the effect that he missed the intellectual discussions that were possible on this board in earlier times, and asked why I was unwilling to engage.
He seemed frustrated when I and other critics would, instead, simply show the bad logic or silliness of some of the things he said rather than engage in a "what if" discussions about fraudulent Mormon claims and fantasies.
My response to him would be my response to any apologist who whines because critics will not engage in respectful and serious "intellectual" discussions about certain aspects of Mormonism, or buy into their latest apologetic construct.
I reminded DCP that there was no evidence whatsoever to indicate that much what he wanted to discuss ever happened and a great deal of evidence that much of the rest of his subject matter was based on fraudulent or plagiarized "scriptures". I reminded him that, in order to have a serious discussion on topics of interest to him, one would have to take as given things that were clearly lies and fantasy, and let him know that I didn't have the time or the patience to play "pretend".
Hope you find something enjoyable to do with your new found spare time.

Good luck, Droopy. I'm sure your testimony could use a good, long stretch of R and R to recover.

I'll break the chat covenant for a moment - Loran, you ought to be ashamed of yourself for calling this place an outhouse when it's you who appears in the middle of friendly conversations hurling insults from the beginning. The other night, calling Zee a bad father, or other nights, appearing and calling us names until we relent and engage you. If anyone has stunk up the joint, it's you.
Maybe some self-reflection will awaken you to the fact that you are one of the biggest assholes on this board. Maybe not. Who cares. I for one will enjoy your departure.
Good riddance.
