Re: More bad news for creationists.
Ya know, Quas, I weary of saying anything but dang! You ignore all of creation which proves God constantly right there in your face and celebrate a stupid lab experiment with yeast! Man!
REALLY! How do you ignore how wondrously all things are made? Push back a second and give it some thought. Allow all creation to run through your mind. How to you give the glory and honor of it all to random chance? That is the stupidest damn thing I can imagine. The motivation behind such blindness is just plain crazy.
Sorry, you know I love ya tons.
If the big bang JUST HAPPENED of its own accord then all that could be is just globs of asteroids everywhere. How do you figure otherwise? Just a universe debris field. Nothing else. SEE?

I have heard it reconciled that God created things by the method of evolution.
This, I believe, is entirely acceptable if one takes the Bible and other scripture as non literal.

There was a group of sentient, intelligent people, who wanted to cause an organism to develop a certain way.....
They purposefully acted on the organism so it would develop the way they wanted it to....
It worked....
Maybe this group of sentient, intelligent people have already become exalted as gods and are now creating species to transport to the worlds they are also in the process of creating by converting their newly bestowed energy into mass balls they will call planets.

And this disproves a creator being involved in evolution, right?
They didn't act on the organism as much as they acted on its environmental pressures. They didn't make the yeast go multicellular; they provided environmental advantage for it.
ETA: I understand the point you're making, by the way, and it is a fair one. I guess what I think is, if the creator is on the same par as research scientists, I don't see a reason to worship it any more than I worship research scientists (assuming we know it's there).
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

It doesn't disprove God, but it does prove that God is not necessary for complex organisms to evolve. It also proves the process of evolution.
The researchers did not physically alter the yeast. They only created an environment that encourage the yeast to change itself. It's a very big jump from single cell organism to a multiple cell organism.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

I've tangled with plenty of people who hold that position.
