Hitting the Road

I'm going to be leaving this place for a while. I don't know when I'll be back, and don't really care. This place is an outhouse, and I'm tired of feeling, all too often, that I have to gather with many of the other posters here at the bottom of it to make my points and field my arguments.

I may be back, periodically, to carry forward some of the ongoing discussions with Stak and whoever else wishes to join in intelligent, civil, intellectually productive discussion and debate in the Celestial room as those discussions proceed (and its usually quite slowly there), but beyond that, I'm gone.

I'll break the chat covenant for a moment - Loran, you ought to be ashamed of yourself for calling this place an outhouse when it's you who appears in the middle of friendly conversations hurling insults from the beginning. The other night, calling Zee a bad father, or other nights, appearing and calling us names until we relent and engage you. If anyone has stunk up the joint, it's you.

Maybe some self-reflection will awaken you to the fact that you are one of the biggest assholes on this board. Maybe not. Who cares. I for one will enjoy your departure.

I didn't hurl any insults. I asked a mildly provocative question intended to kick the ant hill and get the wolves howling, and I did. I used no insults (at that time). As usual, but with especial fury, I was instantly ganged up on by probably more than half a dozen people who immediately began flinging low, crass, vile insults and smears my way, including the usual low blows aimed at my past alcoholism, vulgar, pornographic references to myself and my wife, and a barrage of four letter name calling of no particular coherence.

Coming on the heels of a concerted phalanx of slobbering support for and lionization of the grossest forms of sexual perversion and human psychopathology in two ongoing threads, I decided to do what many others have done before me, which is to leave the cesspool (Wade's term) before my mental state and attitude deteriorated any further.

So that's what I did. You and others of your chitinous ilk may stay here and consume your own vomit all you like. That is your prerogative. Good riddance?

And now, back to my separation from this board, save, as I mentioned in the OP, in the Celestial, where I will continue to have serious, civil discussions with those who have continued with me there on a few key threads.
