This following quote is to be read during the TRI:

These seem like the same instructions I remember receiving about the garments.

Wearing them is a privilege? What's so great about them as opposed to gentile underwear?

The garment should not be removed, either entirely or partially, to work in the yard or for other activities that can reasonably be done with the garment worn properly beneath the clothing.

A football uniform covers the garments. Does anyone know if the endowed BYU football players wear their garments during games?

I don't recall covenanting to wear the garments, only being instructed to do so. I do wonder what has motivated this reminder. Was it perceived that members were taking too many liberties with the garments, and some old-school types decided enough was enough?

Sethbag,

Given that the 15 are acutely aware of an exodus from the fold these days, I would say it is a reaction to growing apostasy. The 15 might believe that being strict with the garments and temple attendance brings about greater loyalty.

And thus my thoughts on the further isolationism we will see in the coming years are becoming reality.

Another?

Members should wash garments once a month whether they need it or not. Preferably while wearing them.

I happen to be in possession of some fairly tactile evidence as to the power of the suits of steel. It's the patch of skin still missing from my back right shoulder.

Ouch! You must have offended God on that day. Hard to believe the garments didn't protect you. Did you drink coffee that morning?

Hey guys, Yeah, well I thought about it a few times over the years. Maybe god *refreshes* his protection envelopment program every couple of minutes.....to remain proactive ond on top of the worthyness curve. Maybe playing catch immediatly reduced my value base and dropped me under the cutoff line of coverage.....as, as I recall we had just finished up with a good deed somewhere.
