Precicely why I find it mystifying that church leaders expect all the members to love the Book of Mormon enough to read it every single day their whole life. For some people it might work, but certainly not everyone.

That would be like saying, "Ok, I want you all to listen to Justin Beiber songs for 10 minutes every morning."

Can't say I'm surprised, Cam.

I'm sure you're not. I was gifted that by a woman who thought I was too pro-Feminist. But don't let the propaganda stop ya, brother.

If you're looking for something in that vein, The War Against Boys by Christina Hoff Sommers has a little more meat to it than Parker's book. For what it's worth, Cam.

I'll shut up now and stopping hogging this thread.

I love and respect you, Morley. But I absolutely hated The Alchemist. It is the only book that I felt like throwing out the window immediately after I had read it.

I appreciate the head's up, but this thread is for someone else looking for something to read (I assume post-Mormon?). I'm kinda over the gender-war thing. I read a lot of Steinem, Dworkin, De Beauvoir, and a few others when I exited Mormonism. I found a lot of their ideas were very credible. It brought me to a more centered place reference the human condition. I reject extreme Feminism just like I reject a Patriarchy.

Lorna Doone. I liked the way he wrote.

Well, then you ought to read The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad.

Way back when USA Today published a list of the Top 100 English Language Novels of All Time. I attempted to read all 100. I got through about 40 before I was like, "“F” this noise... I'm listening to some Pennywise."

I made the right choice.

You're right. Conrad is death.
