You've got me reminiscing Just me. Heck I was doomed from the start!
After about 7 years of just walking away from all things religion, I ventured back to the internet. This was my fifth post on this board. Check out the fly episode in the third post of this thread. Dropped in here … looking for help (no laughing).

why me: I have never said here or anywhere else that I was staying in the church forever. I've never claimed to be TBM, lol, quite the opposite.
"Leaving the church is not hard if one does not believe."
That has not been my experience. If it was easy for you when you didn't believe, than that is great. But I have no use for your blanket statement.
.
Your postmormon testimony was so predictable. I saw it coming a mile away. It fits the pattern of many others I have read. But what you wrote seems a little phoney to me. It was too standard with the god/goddess, and mysteryies of life etc. Too standard and not original at all.
Also, when I said to Liz that there were very few active Mormons here, she listed you as active. And you did not contradict her. But I knew. And at this moment I am beginning to believe that maybe you were a phoney here. That actually, you have been away from the church for quite a while because what you wrote came out of a postmo handbook.
But maybe I am wrong. But my gut tells me that I am right. But anyway I am glad that you are now being honest. And that is always a good thing, right?
And in terms of a blanket statement, I have seen people leave who never had a testimony. It wasn't difficult at all for them to leave. Leaving becomes difficult when one had a testimony. And that was my point.

She knows it already. There is no such thing as anarchy in life. Life is a constant controlling mechanism. And freedom is an illusion. We just need to be comfortable with what is controlling us.

Why me, you are such a twit. Just me is being soooo honest in this thread. You are using that to attack her for your own personal and inexplicable reasons.
Grow up.
by the way it's "right", not "write".
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

No crap, Socrates. Thanks for your incisive analysis of the obvious point of the thread.

Anarchy is not freedom.
I still am an active member of the LDS church. I have now shared with my online friends and untold strangers my current plan to begin my exit from activity. My entire time on this board I have called myself either a NOM or an unbelieving active member of the church.
Thank you everyone for all the kind words and I am glad that so many of you appreciated my post. I am going to print this thread out and keep it with my journal.
Zee, you are an amazing man. Your ability to lay yourself bare here on this public forum is breathtaking.
schreech: You made me giggle. I used to have the hots for Jean Luke Picard.
RockSlider, thanks for the link. I am planning a trip down memory lane, too. I plan to print out some of my past posts here and from other forums so I can save them with my journal.
DeeJ: Yep. The hard part of this is dealing with the people. My relationships and interactions has always been the core of the challenge.
