H.
They originally announced that Romney won Iowa by 8 votes, but upon recount, he officially lost Iowa. So, Romney has only won one of the first three states. What this means is that Republicans still can't make up their minds, and it's going to be a long fight to see who finally wins the nomination.

Has anybody been reading the "sister" thread over at MDD? This guy CQUIRK is a fundamentalist and a zealot--the sort of frightening TBM that leads people to assume that Mormonism is a cult--and so I was shocked to see him making demands like this:
Well Romney lost the South Carolina primary; he got a distant second place showing there.
The religion factor may have played a part, but a significant one.
The way Romney has been campaigning the past week, I'm wondering if he and his staff got hit with a stupid stick, because even I have been turned off with the way they have been going about things.
For one, HE NEEDS TO RELEASE HIS FLIPPIN' TAX RETURNS!
And two, he needs to stop acting all polished and perfect in the debates; that image doesn't help him much, in fact its a turn off to some. He really, REALLY needs to be way more down-to-earth, and stick it to Newt.
C'mon, CQUIRK: Romney is just following the example set by the Church itself. And we all know that you and the rest of the TBMs at MDD don't want the Church to open up its financials.

That might be because in the spring of 2008, not as a presidential candidate, Gingrich aired his dirty laundry. It's been out there and available for 4 years. He confessed his 'sins'.
Romney on the other hand refuses to acknowledge he's ever made a mistake.

Yep, the church is all about image and keeping things sanitized and whitewashed. It's a cult organization that keeps information under raps. The LDS church doesn't care about all truth that is included in one great whole. The church really is in a state of self-apostasy. It's interesting to watch it rot away.
Sooner or later, though, the church will be directly challenged by overwhelming powers that will threaten its very image and ability to defend itself. Eventually, the prophets will be exposed for being the fakes they really are and their lack of power will be manifest. This may not happen for another hundred years or so, but it will happen. The days of Mormonism as we know it are numbered. God only knows what will come out of it.
Unfortunately he is the kind of politician, along the lines of Jerry Brown, that could never get much traction. Maybe he'll be Utah's Governor some day? One can only hope as much...

Believe me, the Obama campaign could not be happier at the prospect of having Newt to run against.
This man is his own worst enemy, and if elected would be an embarrassment to the nation.
Actually, all the Democrats will need to do is to be patient and give Gingrich enough rope to hang himself (which he habitually and reliably does).
Yep, with fat-cat Newt-boy on the ticket, it's an easy shoe in for Obama. He will be a two-term President.
Just look at Newt! How many steaks do you think he gobbled up in 2011? You'd think he'd go on a diet at least. I can see crumbs falling out of his mouth. I'll bet he doesn't even properly chew his food. The man is disgusting. I can easily picture him wearing a bib when he eats.
The Republicans made a HUGE mistake with McCain in 2008. I think they will make the same mistake if Gingrich is the nominee. I think someone like Jeb Bush or Chris Christie could still enter the race if they could get their names on enough state ballots quickly enough and take the nomination.
The Republicans didn't lose the White House in 2008 because of John McCain. The Republicans lost the White House in 2008 because of George W. Bush. His approval ratings were below 35% during the election season of 2008. Neither one of the Republican Candidates for President back in 2008 could have won that election.

Paul,
He probably should, but I doubt that he actually does. He can afford to replace the shirts and ties he ruins.
I would bet that he takes of his jacket before he sits down to feast, though. Those can get expensive.
