As far as Mormonism bashing goes, I think we are in the minor league. Has anyone spent any time on the Mormon Recovery Board?

We are minor league because our numbers are small. Increase the numbers on this board, and it is no longer minor league. This board is antimormon. No question about it. And many personalities here are also antimormon. And I am sure that they are more abusive if they post on the recovery board.

This site should be called exmormon discussions.

I think that Ray wants people to have a discussion and not a Mormon bash. Not much to ask for really. Regardless if it is recognized or not, this site is very negative about Mormonism. In fact, some posters hate it with a passion and it is reflected in the posts. Not much of a discussion really. Just a bash.

Lets just say that there would be more alcoholics and drug addicts without the LDS church. Since none of us knows our history without the LDS church who were once members or who were members. Perhaps some of us would be in AA or a half way house. We just don't know. We would need to do a George Bailey to see our lives without the LDS church.

In the 70's the HIV virus was making the rounds without it being known. Many members were saved from this virus and from the herpes virus by listening to the laws of chasity.

Since we can show it is true, why do I find it impossible to go back? Why do I worry about the harm it will cause my kids if I send them back? As things currently stand, I am the reason we aren't going back.

You left the board for quite a while zeez. Then you came back. Why did you come back to the board? Was it to shore up your exmo testimony? Maybe so. I think that there is more risk out there for kids being raised without a religion. The Mormon church teaches good healthy values, something young people need today. Without it, they can end up badly in moral situations and in life situations.

If you want to go back, you will need to leave this board and allow the spirit back into your life and see where it guides you. It is really that simple. But you will need to leave this board behind because it has influenced you too much.

The Church was a big part of your life? I'm an ex-bishop. I'm now living in rags and bankruptcy because of all my years of being "devoted to the Church". And no one gives a damn. Still, I don't feel any necessity to go on some kind of "crusade". Live, and let live. Many people have found happiness in Mormonism. Some times you win, and sometimes you lose. That's life. I'm not bitter; I just wish life could have been a bit easier, but because I'm a believer, I don't think that God allows our experiences for no reason. I suppose I'm one of the "God dupes".

I certainly don't recommend that anyone become consumed with bitterness and go on a crusade after their white whale. But you can make measured criticisms without being motivated by anger or bitterness.

I'm surprised that someone with your intelligence still hasn't understood what I've said. It's okay, Tarski, I still like you.

But many do. Check out the bitterness here or on other exmormon sites. Crusade is an understatement. And the criticisms here are for the most part not measured at all.

What Mormon discussions do we have here when most active members are somewhere else?

No surprise there. I've largely come to expect bitter "ex-Mos" to be "beyond feeling".

What about the LDS Church do you think makes those that leave it bitter about their Mormon experience?
