Stay in which way, Liz? As temple-worthy tithe-paying calling-holding members? Or on our own terms - you know, a glass of wine with dinner, beer or two while watching the game, pay what I want, maybe volunteer a night or two per month?

It seems like if the Church really cared about its members, the focus would be on the current members rather than outside growth.

The problem is that LDS Inc resisted changing and waited too long to make any changes. Then again, it is tough to polish a turd.

LDS church service is down right boring when compared to the more modern contemporary xtian services that are on the rise.

I can only hope that my online participation, podcasts, and d'evangelizing around my neighborhood, schools, and work have helped contribute to the decline in LDS faithful!

Did anyone notice that the LDS who were interviewed in the video, essentially created strawmen?

Their response to the exodus from the church shows that they don't understand, or choose not to understand, the real reason why folk are leaving. They provide solutions which only apply to members who have "fallen into inactivity". Their responses do not acknowledge the internet or church history and the role these items play in a members choice when deciding to leave the church.

I was disappointed that none of those interviewed bore solemn testibaloney.

The Church will increasingly be a "Third World" Church, made up of black Africans, East Indians, south Pacific Islanders, and poor Mestizos in latin America, and not-so-poor Mestizos in North America. In Europe, the Church will consist mostly of immigrants from black Africa, with some East Indian Christians converting, and perhaps some Russian immigrants, but among educated white people, both in Europe and North America, the Church will continue to have less and less appeal, not only because the Church clings to Creationism, and the insistence that the Flood of Noah had to be universal, and that there was no death prior to 4004 B.C., but because educated white people are just NOT "buying" the thing about angels giving gold plates to young men; especially since the gold plates were "taken back" by the angel to make sure, I guess, we have to have "faith" the lack of all evidence. I admit, when I REALLY thought about it, as a Mormon, I found it not easy to accept. But, again, the Church will continue to grow by LEAPS AND BOUND where the people have little education, are superstitious, and poor (i.e. Africa, Latin America, parts of Christian India, and among such immigrants in the United States and Europe). The Church will also grow among the less-educated Chinese, if mainland China opens up to missionary work (Hong Kong is open, but not the rest of mainland China). But, you'll see fewer and fewer white people in the Church in the decades to come, because educated whites are Internet-savvy, and there is just too much anti-Mormon information out there on the Internet! And there is much more "Anti" to come. And the Church's Standard Response to Anti has been "Don't worry about it! Just obey and you'll be blessed!" will work as well in the future as it does now...meaning it does not work at all.

at :50 remaining in the video, a man being interviewed said he thought that more members needed to get deeper into the faith... you foo, that's why many are LEAVING!

Then the lady after him... which planet does she live on? "When ahhh um life is going good and we don't have as many challenges, we don't turn to God..." Last I checked life is not going so well for most... unwitting fool.

I could write a book dwarfing "The Uranita Book" on the STUPID and IGNORANT things I've heard Mormon bishops say over the past 30 years!
