Super Bowl Sunday Menu-A Deeply Religious Experience

Post by _Yoda »

Since Super Bowl Sunday is a religious rite for many, I thought this thread could stand in Terrestrial rather than Off Topic. ;)

What is everyone cooking or ordering for the occasion?

This is our menu:

Orange fizzes- combination of orange juice, ice, and sprite in a blender

Chips and homemade salsa

Pigs in a blanket

7 layer taco salad

Sloppy Joe sliders

BBQ baby back riblets

Wings with homemade "crazy sauce" (BBQ and garlic butter mix), homemade ranch dressing, and homemeade teriaki sauce

All diets are on hold until after the game! :-)

So....what else is everyone cooking?

These are "must haves" for the religious rite of Super Bowl Sunday:

1. Good food
2. Friends and family
3. Big screen TV

Home made guacamole dip.
Rib eye steaks.
Baked potatoes
Chinese chicken salad
Sliced cheese, cold cuts and crackers along with chips and dip and a veggie tray for snacking during the game.
Beverage of your choice.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

Ham on the ski slopes for us! I don't even know who is playing in the super bowl.

I would like to remind you that it is the first Sunday of the month and a fast should be observed along with a generous fast offering representing a dollar value to what you would have eaten on Super Bowl Sunday.

I have to work during the game. Go Giants I guess.

Homemade clam chowder
ribs with sparkle sauce
chips and dip - cheese, clam, and ranch - homemade of course
4 layer super cake (also makes an appearance during the final four - a 3 week celebration)
fruit salad - for the gals
