But we still have the full 9th, this was just a three judge panel, and then the Supreme Court. The 9th is fully corrupt ...

Good fcking grief, you don't think before you smear the literal crap that your mind dumps.

The 9th is fully corrupt, which means judge smith dissent is fully corrupt, which means his dissent in favor of prop 8 is fully corrupt.

The 9th is fully corrupt, which means the 9th should have denied hearing the appeal, and let judge walkers ruling stand.

The 9th is fully corrupt for hearing the case which means you support ssm.

Cheesy rice you post some really just stupid things sometimes. Drop the chip on your shoulders and think before you post.

It would be awesome if the end result was that gay marriage was made legal nationwide. The church would really have egg on its face.

From being the only slave state in the West to participating in the Red Scare and fighting against civil liberties for blacks, the church is consistently on the wrong side of history.

I think we're making a lot of progress on this board. We've recently had a thread where Maklelan openly expressed his utter contempt for the official teachings of the LDS Church.

And now in this thread, faithful Mormon bcspace isn't even pretending to believe in the rule of law, saying instead that the validity of any given example of American jurisprudence depends on whether a court turns his personal value judgments and religious dogma into positive law.

I find such candor to be refreshing.

Bcspace do you care to explain why you have pronounced judge smith ruling infavor of prop 8 as fully corrupt

If this goes all the way to the Supreme Court and they also rule Prop 8 as unconstitutional does that mean that God lost? But losing was part of The Plan?

Well, that's quite a manipulative and intentional misrepresentation of my position. Why is lying always ok as long as you're criticizing the church?

How would you put it, then? That you think you know better than Church leaders? That Church leaders are flat-out wrong?

I don't disagree with the Church leaders, I just don't interpret their statements about garments the way that you guys do. Obviously my interpretation is not at all atypical. I've explained this numerous times already. Why do you feel it necessary to continue to lie about what I am saying?

The claim that the equal protection clause requires California to grant SSM is pure flatulence. The Constitution must be read in the sociohistorical context in which it was written and amended, and the equal protection clause does not and cannot mean what SSM advocates claim it means.
