"Hinckley might be interested to know that his birthplace is being sold by a lesbian couple, Keri Jones and Cristy Gleeve, who are parents of Glory, their daughter. Jones was involved in a high-profile child-custody dispute several years ago, Babs De Lay is the real estate agent. (Yep, she's gay, too.)"

WHAT!! Gays have Constitutionally Protected Rights? (link)

"Now, Sen. Orrin Hatch called the ruling by a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals panel “judicial activism at its worst.” The LDS Church “regrets” the panel’s decision. Church members, of course, gave a lot of financial support to Prop. 8."
"A Utah lawyer who backed Prop. 8 said that if a right isn’t explicitly detailed in the U.S. Constitution, “it’s only going to be recognized if it’s fundamental to the tradition and the history of the nation.”"

Fixed again.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

In addition to Prop 8 being declared unconstitutional (again), AND Washington state passing a marriage equality bill yesterday (making it the 7th state to recognize marriage between LGBT couples--California will be the 8th), Illinois also introduced a marriage equality bill, titled "Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act":

Is anyone aware of the LDS church making any statements about Washington state? Or the pending legislation in Illinois?
Interesting how the Utah leadership's directives haven't promoted the need to fight against gay marriage in other states, as they did with California (so far as I'm aware)...
If gay marriage was worth the Prophet's and Twelve's public call to arms to fight against in California, why haven't they issued similar calls to action elsewhere?

PR
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

I believe California has the greatest number of Mormons in any state except Utah, so I think that's why they focused on it. However, after the PR spanking they've gotten for their shenanigans in California, I doubt they'll be overtly supporting similar initiatives any time soon.
