Really? In this very thread, Maklelan claims that there is a wide variety of opinion on doctrine among Mormons. Do you think that he harbors apostate views?

Mormons have all kinds of views on all kinds of things.....

But when it comes to Mormonism, the Doctrines, Theology, basic history, etc. of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we all essentially believe the same.

Really? Do you believe that garments have the ability to protect you from physical injury? Do you believe that the Book of Abraham was literally translated from the papyri? Do you believe that the Hill Cumorah--the location of the final Nephite battle--is located in New York?

We are much more unified on the basics than you think.

I would agree that LDS are unified in certain ways--perhaps even 'on the basics,' depending on how you want to define that phrase. But there is a fairly significant gulf in terms of beliefs, and this includes a whole array of doctrinal and historical issues. For example, I'm sure that there are tons of Chapel Mormons out there who believe that Joseph Smith was a monogamist.

In that case, it was the same exact revelation that Joseph F. Smith received, so he's in good company.

One thing that I have noticed is that Chapel Mormons are, typically, of the generation that is slightly older than mine.

God is also of the generation that is slightly older than yours, and He is still pushing Chapel Mormonism through His mouthpieces, is He not?

Those of us who are in our late 40's are, more or less, on the cusp of this BRM phenomenon.

Is God also on the cusp of "this BRM phenomenon," or are His mouthpieces to be disbelieved?

We grew up hearing our parents and/or grandparents touting much of this as doctrine.

When you say "much of this," are you referring to God's teachings that your parents and/or grandparents learned from the Lord through His mouthpieces?

He turned the question back on her, and she decided no to go with the "gay thing" because she knew the interview would end right there. She also decided against saying that the internet was providing more information and painting the church's official histories as less than honest. She said instead that it was single women struggling to find an identity in a church tailored to mothers and families.

As a journalist, she REALLY dropped the ball. She shouldn't've let him turn it back on her; considering how milquetoast she ended up getting, she should've just stuck to making him answer the question as scheduled. Too bad.

Most Mormons (active) are actually quite internet savy and have served missions or are married to someone who has.

Then you, too, are either willfully ignorant or are missing the point entirely. "Internet Mormonism" simply refers to the venue by which this brand of Mormonism is primarily promulgated; it has nothing to do with who does or doesn't have an Internet connection.

As noted before, PM and PB remain doctrines.

What are "PM" and "PB?"

However, I will say that the under 30 Chapel Mormons are "chapel Mormons" to a different Church than the church of our youth.
