And has the brodie family signed on to the awards and the use of the name?

So when two of our much loved very own win an award of recognition for their achievements, it is a bad thing to applaud them?

*Insert loud huzzah's from consiglieri for Ms. Jack and Runtu*

And why is it you think some sort of authorization must be obtained from the family of a deceased scholar for use of her last name in an awards presentation?

Do surviving Poes have to agree to The Edgars?

All the Best!

And what is wrong with the reaction of the board? Do you think that we would be any less happy if you had won something and shared it? I guarantee you that everyone here would offer a sincere congratulations. Do you remember when BC's sister was entered in a singing competition for an opera company, and people online could vote? Many here actually voted for her, and complimented her on her accomplishment. So much for us treating TBMs differently.

What you are exhibiting is poor sportsmanship.

There are some wonderful people here. It's too bad that you refuse to see that.

Thanks, everyone. Life has been a bit rough for me the last couple of weeks, so this was a nice bit of positive news.

The problem is with your moderating. I have never seen you admonish your friends for their behavior toward me at all. You just let it slide. But you are certainly quick to spot a problem with my posts. You are not fair. When I see you take to task your friends who seem to abuse the Mormons on this board, I may change my mind. But at this moment you are not fair at all. Not that it matters however. It is just the way things are on this board.

You have not been paying attention, then, because I consistently take both critics and TBMs to task.

And I have defended you as well.

More times than not, you make asinine comments like the one you made here:

Why Me wrote:Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. I am sure that the NYTimes covered it and the NYPost too on their page 6 section. Absolutely amazing....both deserve a round of applause. Who needs the oscars when we have the brodies. By the way, did the Brodie family give permission for the use of their name?

And, no, when you make comments like this, I will NOT defend you.

If you ever feel that you are being treated unfairly, or my moderation of you, in particular, has been unfair, please provide a specific example, and PM it to myself and Shades so that it can be addressed.

If Shades honestly feels that my moderation has been unfair, I will step down as a moderator immediately.

I think whyme wants liz to tell people to stop ignoring him.

Since liz is a Mod and therefore cannot put anyone on ignore, whyme's only way of getting an audience nowadays is to complain to her in the hope that she will quote him in her reply, and thus allow him to pop his head up out of the swamp of oblivion for a few moments and belch out a little accumulated sourness - in this instance about MsJack and Runtu (to whom many congrats ...)

Why me:

Moderators are allowed to post in two fashions: "Moderator Mode" and "Speaking as a Man."

When liz3564 posts in black text, then she's "speaking as a man" and can say whatever she wants (within the confines of the rules, like anyone else). She may also admonish--or refrain from admonishing--anyone she wants for any reason or for no reason whatsoever.

If she posts in red text, then she's in "moderator mode" and must treat everyone with 100% fairness and impartiality.

So, think of the posts wherein you believe you she treated you unfairly, and then look at the color of the text. Was it red or black?
